Jessica #2, #10, and #13 are totally me! I'm always defending myself against folks who hate the genre that aren't even familiar with it... and I'm always ready to recommend in favourite sub-genres for those that ARE interested

Giselle Smith Pretty much all of these are true! I attended a session at a library conference several years ago for Romance readers & lots of these were mentioned! In today's world we all need some HEA endings especially in our books.

Rivalic Michelle wrote: "I'll keep writing them, then! Mine are clean with a HEA, do not embarrass grandchildren and are available in ebook. :)"

Yes mine are clean too! I am way too modest about sexual stuff, but I am a devoted hopeless romantic! Read Sarah Dessen's books!

Karen Wilson You know your a romance reader when it’s easier to order your favorite venti, double shot, half-caf, skinny, sf, extra foam, vanilla latte in one breath than to explain the genre and sub genres of the books in your elibrary: mm/ménage/rocker/shifter/thriller/medical/ceo/tattoo/biker/single dad/hea.

Belinda I can relate to everything on this post, especially random moments where I form a love story in my head at school or public places.
I love reading stories that not only have romance, but with a amazing plot line. I live for the dramas that romance books provide because in reality, there are always ups and downs in relationships. Majority of my books on my Kindle are romance novels with angst, drama, light humor and a whole lot of chemistry between the main characters (even side stories).

Mary Alice Tanner Jonetta wrote: "There's something about knowing that it will all work out in the end that makes romance novels attractive. The journey is everything and I can handle all the conflicts getting there in the meantime..."

I totally agree.

I agree. I've seen "kisses only" and "closed door" to describe those romances and think they are much more appropriate terms.

message 71: by Giselle (new)

Giselle Smith I'll start using those terms. That will be helpful when reviewing!
