Bjorn Klein writes an audacious blend of magical realism, fantasy, and satire—stories in which reality is negotiable and systems have a habit of quietly falling apart.

He grew up in the former Kingdom of Bavaria, a childhood so outrageously normal it practically demanded rebellion. Books, music, and an overactive imagination became early accomplices, along with a tendency to ask inconvenient questions. He studied music, literature, and education in Cologne, which mostly confirmed his suspicion that institutions are strange creatures and shouldn’t be left unsupervised—a lesson that continues to leak into his fiction.
