Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve posted on this blog. But today, I couldn’t resist. Here’s a post-apocalyptic (ish) image from the Godzilla movie. I love this one so much it helped inspire my newest book, Hell Divers. Check it out here… PA fans should really dig this one, especially if you enjoyed the Extinction Cycle.

But enough about my work. Let’s talk about post-apocalyptic art for a moment. One of the most compelling things about these images is how it makes me feel. I live a pretty safe, comfortable life. That’s what’s so frightening about the apocalypse. It could happen at any point. North Korea could launch a nuke, an asteroid could show up on our doorstep, a virus could wipe out humanity. Hell, there are so many ways for the end to come it drives me crazy just to think about them all. Most of the time I don’t. Unless I’m writing.

When looking at this image, a lot of potential PA scenarios run through my mind. What do you think of? Reblog with your answer!

Lucas Negro First thing that crosses my mind is that we take a lot of things for granted, while we should be thankful for the simple things.
The soap you have everyday, the antibiotics at hand, and the safety of a planet that have everything to go wrong, but doesn't.

Kathy Ann'tie I love that image. The new book sounds awesome. This image makes me think of the partying Arisen where they dive into Boston to find any scientific information to help stop the virus! They all didn't land well.
