How Do You Celebrate Valentine's Day?

We're never really sure how we're going to celebrate Valentine's Day. Some years my husband goes all out. Others, we could end up at McDonald's. But there is one constant. I will always get candy.

Why? All because of our first year of marriage.

The first year we were married, I was home alone when the doorbell rang. I got up to answer it and there was a dude with a box of long-stemmed red roses.

My husband came home from work a few hours later, expecting hugs and kiss, and instead he found a sobbing bride. He was shocked. What is wrong?

I looked at him with tear-filled eyes and said, You think I'm fat.

How do you get that from roses?

Roses aren't candy. If you thought I was the right weight, you would have bought me candy.

That was the moment my husband realized I was insane. And lucky for him because by the time I realized I wanted to be a writer and began writing in earnest and the real craziness began, he was ready!

So every year I get a box of candy and dinner out...proof he believes it's okay for me to pack in the calories! LOL

What about you? Does your husband have a go-to gift? Or do you have a funny Valentine's Day story?

Penelope Marzec Hubby ALWAYS buys me a box of candy, but I always ask him for a trinket. It doesn't have to be expensive, but I really want something I can hold in my hand forever. :-)

Lots of my friends have charm bracelets. Makes it easy for their significant others to get them a charm every year.

You should buy yourself the bracelet and explain it to him!
