Read the article. I agree with Mr. Erickson, if they loved his story so much why did they change it. I like Hank the Cowdog just as he is. A hero who gets into trouble, who sometimes goes unheralded, and sometimes hopes no one is looking when he drools over the chickens. I like Loper's casual attitude toward fixing a fence and Little Alfred's mischievous antics. I like to see the little snippets of family life on a ranch and the dangers that man and dog face in the panhandle country on a real ranch and all written with a sense of humor that keeps me and my children laughing.
