Spanking for pleasure – the final taboo?

If there's one theme in my erotica then it's spanking. An over-the-knee spanking or a 'bend over and touch your toes' type; it's all the same to me...
In fact I never realised just how obsessed I was with spanking until Felicity started to pen some short stories on the subject. Then I found that no matter who the characters are, what they are doing or where they are, I will somehow always manage to get a good spanking into the plot!
So I obviously enjoy a consensual, erotic spanking, and what's wrong with that you might say? (I know at this point there may be some who have a lot to say, but remember I said consensual and that means that everyone involved wants to play!) I am not writing about coerced spanking or abuse. There is nothing erotic about hitting somebody who does not want to participate and this type of act constitutes an assault. For me the line is clear and easy to differentiate between. Whilst (in my opinion) there is room in literature for both subjects, I write about sexual surrender and spanking, not physical assault.
Now back to erotic spanking... It's true that domestic discipline is a very popular genre in the erotica market and yet I have never marketed my stories in that direction. For me, the spanking is always part of a much deeper and more intimate D/s (Dominant/submissive) connection, and is either used as a punishment or a reward, depending on the nature of the act. I love that trust between two characters; the submissive gives her partner the power to destroy her, and the trust that he never will. I find this infinitely fascinating... and arousing!
I recently just started to pen a brand new spanking scene. I woke up one morning last week and the muse literally hit me (pun intended!) With this in mind, I started to think about all of the other hot spanking scenes I have written... Some of my favourites are penned in my recent book, Submission at The Tower: The Depths of Desire, but there are also other hot scenes in the previous books...
