Nostalgia

So, I wrote my latest book set in the eighties, and a lot of people who grew up in that era are very nostalgic for the fledgling video games they played. Me? I never got into gaming at all, but I had to laugh when someone mentioned Atari...

I dug this little gem out of the archives, LOL.

I was a seventeen year old emancipated minor, living on my own and taking whatever jobs I could get to make ends meet. I worked at a temp agency for a short while, and manned the cash register at the company store.

I wish I knew then what I know now.

I also wish I still had my old '69 Rambler 440 wagon. It was a beast. *sigh*

I remember early in the seventies when my dad hooked up our homemade Heathkit TV with the original Pong, LOL.

I still have my Atari. It works beautifully, and I hook it up sometimes, for nostalgia's sake. :)

I hear ya on that. I'm 35...when I was in high school, cell phones were a status symbol and the "World Wide Web" was a curiosity - I remember people saying "Well this is cute and all, but what are we supposed to do with it?"

I remember celebrating with my girlfriend when we got DSL internet access in our apartment, because we felt like we'd "made it". :D

Shelby *trains flying monkeys* This is awesomeness!
