I miss reading!
I can't believe after all these years that I've finally joined Goodreads! Undoubtedly, I'm going to screw this up somehow, but they say to add a blog so here it goes lol (and yes, this really is me- only the real JR Ward could be this confused about something that shouldn't b this hard to figure out!)
I love my job writing. It is the single best thing in the world- aside from dogs, a good cup of coffee, and the Louisville Cardinal Men's Basketball team winning against anyone who's ranked especially that other team in the state- and is one of the few endeavors I'm really good at. The only thing that hasn't been so great about having this career is that I don't read anymore. Part of that is the reality of time constraints; another part is the fact that my eyes are usually so burned out by the end of the work day, the last thing I have any interest in is reading anything. I want to watch a football or basketball game, or some Real Housewives thing or a rerun of The Office.
That being said, I'm having a ball going through and listing the books that I've read that I've loved soooooo much. I'm not done, but finding them and putting them on my profile?board?whatisitcalledhere? has reminded me of the great joy I had when I was between their covers. Elizabeth Lowell is probably the biggest star in my night sky- her books were the ones that got me started in romance. And then there's Suzanne Brockmann who made me cry because she was so good and I was convinced I was never going to get there. Doc Jess is there, too- my very best writer friend and a woman I couldn't respect more. And my mentor Sue Grafton. And Lisa Gardner. And Karen Marie Moning. And I have to add Christine Feehan!
Anywho, I'm babbling. I don't know how to do blogs or any of this, but one thing I am sure about? Without these women, I wouldn't be where I am now.
Oh, and I'm a Howard Stern fan. From the way back. RIP Eric the Actor. Hail to Bababooey. Fred is an alien. Ronnie is the man. I miss Artie.

Love reading your books. Have fallen in love with The Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Can't wait to read even more of them as they come out.

Woop woop!!! Awesome to see one of my fav authors on here, welcome to Good reads!! P.s. You state that by the end of your work day your eyes hurt you can't read. I'm a mother of 4 boys, full time student with a part time job, having time to sit down to read is hard to do. So I've fallen in love with my audio books. Which you have amazing narrators for your works, I'm addicted and couldn't live without my phone, Bluetooth ear buds and my audio books.
I love your black dagger brotherhood series. I have read them all. Zsadist is my favorite one.

I had every intention of keeping that vow until some very wise friends of mine badgered me insisting that I just had to read the BDB books. And I admit that I Thank Jesus every time I open (well load on my Kindle) the next and the next and the next. I am on Lover Reborn and can I just tell you that you are my hero! Also I am certain Puffs tissues should be deeply grateful to you for keeping them afloat because of the incredible characters you have created.

Welcome to Goodreads!:) I follow you on Facebook as well. Talking about reading, I use to hate reading because I'm a slow reader. One book would take me a year depending on the size. However that's when I was a single mom trying to raise 3 boys on my own with no help. Now they are grown with kids of their own and I'm re-married with a little more time to read and it would take 9-12 months to read a single book. Unfortunately I got really sick back in 2008 which I had to end my nursing career of 23yrs. Now disabled with lots of time I'm able to say I love reading. So many fabulous authors and so many books later, I read over 22 last yr. :) Reading gives me such a release and in my head I'm traveling all over the world, whether it's past present or future I'm having a blast an have a rather large collection of books. (my hubby even tried to ground me from buying more, which didn't work. Ha ha ha) Now I'm babbling. Lol Love your work! -Kara ☺

The BlackDagger Brotherhood series is the first paranormal romance I've ever read. Unfortunately for others it set the bar! I'm so hooked I can read anything else! I met a lady while I was traveling for work that told me about the series. I wish I had her name and address, I'd send her flowers! Lol!
So glad you're on Goodreads! And I really like Elizabeth Lowell's older writing. You might like Julie Garwood if you like Elizabeth Lowell. Anyway, cannot wait for the next BDB!!!

You have been on my fan list since the day I joined GR. I'm always excited wondering what great story you'll come up with next. You never, ever disappoint. I mostly read m/m romance now, but you will always be one of the few m/f romance authors that I will continue to read. Although, I guess you are now also a m/m romance author since writing Lover at Last. :)

So happy one of my fav. authors is up here. I remember when I first read BDB series. I bought a book pack, it's a whole bunch of books together. The first book I read was Z's book. *sigh* When I started I was in wth mode, but in the end I fell hard, and had to go back to get all of them. This was a while ago, cause I remember flying through the series from beginning to end, and having to wait for Lover Unleashed. I am forever devoted, and can't wait to find out what happens next.
