It's a childhood nickname - (pronounced "cage") - when I was looking for pen names I wanted something I might actually respond to if called by it, and it was a bonus that it doesn't come up much on searches (although there is a musician and a few others.)

It's not obvious - looks like it might be Scandinavian. Last year at GRL I think I started my Q&A session, with "Hi, I'm Kaje, pronounced "cage"..." :)
May I ask, how did you come up with the name "Kaje"? Needless to say, it's quite unusual.
