Not a Maddy's birthday post. Actually about four other things.

You make me tear up. Your daughter is beautiful. Both of mine are now over thirty and nearly thirty. It's my youngest daughter, Jessie who first introduced me to American Gods, one of the most insightful books about who we are as Americans that I have ever read. And the ending takes place in Rock City in Chattanooga where I was born and raised. How could anything be better for an avid reader of anything with a spine -- book spine. So happy birthday to your wonderful daughter, Maddy, who is lucky to have such a brilliant and loving Daddy.

I also wanted to say Happy Birthday to your daughter, my niece just turned 16 this year herself, and she is loving every minute of it, especially the being able to drive part. She goes everywhere she can in her car, its a new found freedom for her that I think will take awhile to pass :). I remember it was like that for me too when I turned sixteen. I was searching around online the other day, for some good wordpress themes for authors, because I haven't been able to find many that I have liked so far, and wanted to pass this along to you.
