Sequel to Christine Announced

Following the success of Doctor Sleep, Stephen King announced today that he will be returning to the story of Dennis Guilder in 2015 with CHRISTINE LIVES, the sequel to his 1983 novel Christine. CHRISTINE LIVES picks up where Christine left off, and follows the trials and tribulations of Dennis's descent from school teacher to carnival barker as he attempts to evade the smoking tires of fate.

Dionne B @Mike So no Christine Lives? ):

message 54: by Mike (new)

Mike Marsbergen @Dionne It appears not. But who knows-- maybe this was King's way of testing the waters and seeing how the announcement of a sequel would be received?

message 55: by Dionne (new)

Dionne B @Mike I do not know. He knows people are and will be crazy about his work. I just really hope I get to read a sequel soon.

Mike Marsbergen People need to click the links and read the comments.

Dana Salman Haha lol wow, Stephen King's gone all Disney with sequels, first a sequel to the Shining and now this, I'm so happy!! It's been so long since I've read that book but I loved it, I feel the nostalgia coming on!! Stephen King you are the best ever!!

message 58: by Dana (new)

Dana Salman Ah shit, never mind... That was so cruel...

Where did you find out it was legitimate? It still says April Fools on the link.

Garrett Nicolai Of all of Mr. King's novels, there aren't many that are all that open to a sequel; they're all pretty much self-contained, with the story of the protagonists pretty much wrapping up. Frankly, I'm fine with that. While I loved Doctor Sleep (to be honest, I enjoyed it more than the Shining), I'm fine getting a new set of wonderful characters each time I crack open a book by Mr. King. I wouldn't say no to a sequel, but in this era where everything seems to be developed as a series, it's nice to have stories that were written to stand on their own.

I didn't. Mike disabused me of that idea the next post after mine and I responded, "Oh crap."
I know it was an April Fool's joke.

T.L. Folks...read up a few spaces, or better yet, follow the links on Stephen Kind's site...it was an April Fool's joke and it says so, even taking you to a page where you get Rick Rolled. If you don't know what "Rick Rolled" is, look it up...

message 71: by Tanesa (new)

Tanesa There are lots of rude comments being made

message 72: by Mike (new)

Mike Marsbergen @Tanesa I don't see any rude comments being made. I see people that didn't click the links and thought this April Fool's gag was a real book. And then I see people informing them of their error.
