It is snowing again

It is snowing here…again. If only I had Mother Nature’s address, I’d Fed-Ex her a calendar, gently reminding her that this is late March. Enough already. Good luck to all in the path of this latest snowstorm. Sorry for not being around much since I got home, but I am still in Book-Tour Recovery mode. I hope to put a new blog up this week about the tour and the Tucson Book Festival, but as I had Coeur de Lion thinking in a dark Ransom moment, “If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.” Many thanks to all of you who’ve posted that you’re enjoying Ransom and thanks, too, to any who aren’t for not posting that! Seriously, writers appreciate reader feedback the way my dog, Holly, appreciates anything edible. The one drawback of writing is that it is such a solitary profession, and we often never know if a particular scene or line of dialogue resonated with readers. Not that I am complaining; being a writer is so much more fun than being a lawyer. Who wouldn’t rather besiege a castle rather than file a brief?

Carolina Casas Nice. Sorry, I know you might be a bit tired of snow but I don't get a lot of snow, if any at all where I come from, so I get excited when I see snow. I know I am still a little kid :P I am visiting in NY state and working as a tutor part time and get excited despite the cold seeing the snow.

Sharon I used to feel the same way, Athena, for I grew up in Atlantic City, NJ, and we rarely got snow; I never had a white Christmas that I can remember. But in the past few years, NJ has gotten way too much snow!

Yeah, the weather has gotten very crazy these last years! We didn't get any white Christmas growing up where I come from, the only December it did snow it lasted for a few hours, melted right away. Just got out for groceries after going over some students I am tutoring for English and Spanish, and I really regretted not wearing gloves but happy to see snow nonetheless :)

Rebecca Hill We actually had alot of sun until today, but then it started raining again, so now I am ready for summer. I am tired of seeing grey and dreary.

Leila No snow at all here England up to now this year; but no shortage of rain! Today - thunder, lightning and lots and lots of that oh so familiar RAIN.

Kendra Yep, I'm still waiting for winter to begin. We didn't get much this year, seems the mid-west and east coast hogged it all to themselves ;-) It looks like we're going to have to quit bathing this summer.

Sharon Do you live in Arizona, Kendra? On my book tour, people told me they had a very mild winter, but they are worrying they'll now have a sizzling summer. And in California, of course, the drought continues

Kendra I live in Northern Nevada and like Arizona & California, we haven't gotten nearly the amount of snowpack in the mountains that we usually do. We depend on the snowpack to give us enough water to get through the summer. Also, because of reclamation programs, we have a lot of desert made farmland areas that depend on the snowpack to irrigate the crops. We are the largest grower of alfalfa in the US. We are already looking at implementing water restrictions that we usually don't have to follow before June. Lastly, because of the unusually warm weather, everything is blooming early. A good thing, right? Unfortunately, the bees aren't awake yet, so the blooms will be spent before there is anything to pollinate them. We're worried. It's a weird winter, half of the country got too much and the other half got not enough. Summer will be interesting ;-)
