The Scorch Trials ARC Contest

As promised, today begins the official contest to win an advanced copy of the sequel to THE MAZE RUNNER. It's very simple:

I want some good to come out of this, so here's how you enter. Leave a comment telling us about a good deed you plan to do/have done this week. It doesn't have to be big or elaborate. Just something simple. Make another person's day. Make a donation. Save the world. Convince the NFL to move to 18 games. Whatever.

The contest will be open until Thursday (Aug 5) at noon (MST)...

Kristen I do good by simply smiling, laughing, listening, believing, holding, respecting, loving, hugging, kissing, appreciating, singing, playing, looking, reading, flying, creating, and seeing. We do it everyday and some days it is enough.

Kate (VerbVixen) I plan on baking a Coca-Cola Chocolate Cake (Amma's recipe from Beautiful Creatures as provided by Kami Garcia). I plan on delivering this cake to my Nana, to cheer her up after her recent eye surgery. She doesn't know that the cake, or I, am coming to visit.

Emily I have been helping a friends neighbor clean out her house, because she is a hoarder and can barley move around in her own home, let alone live. We have slowly gotten her aware of the severity of the problem and are almost finished cleaning out her garage and now will start going inside to save her from dying within the junk piled all around. She is already SO much happier being able to park her car inside and breathe again. I have finally seen her smile and really feal it :)

Just Me I am going to Meals on Wheels with my Nana very soon. This is a special thing that we (me, my mother, siblings, and Nana) have been doing for a very long time. I love getting the meals to everyone and seeing all of the people on the route.

June Morgan I have taught in an academic camp all summer. On my own, I have established a lending library for the students ages K-8. Besides three hours of academic classes, I am the librarian where I do book talks, model reading, recommend books to all students, and talk with them about books. I am encouraging them to find a book that they like and read it cover to cover. They tend to never read one cover to cover. Reading whole books is a skill that tends to be neglected in regular school. The best part is that they do not have to take a comprehension test or complete a project. I just want them to learn to enjoy reading.

message 9: by Jake (new)

Jake I started my required summer reading without my mother nagging me (too much!).

message 10: by Julie (new)

Julie I'm going to take care of my three little kids (ages 3, and twins that are 18 months). This includes feeding them, reading to them, and a little bit of wrestling and tickling too. I figure this is about the best contribution I can make--provide three amazing people to the world! (if everything goes as planned :) )

message 13: by Kristin (new)

Kristin I spent the evening sitting on the porch talking with a little girl that lives down the street. I was going to read, but she seemed lonely and wanted to know if we could play "I Spy." So we did...and she won, of course. Her big, bright smile as she skipped off made my entire day :)

message 14: by Jessica (new)

Jessica I donated $75 so my church's Vacation Bible School could buy a cow through Heifer International.
