First, I find I don't want to read a paperback in bed because the way the bedroom is set up, I have to get out of bed to turn out the light, whereas with the ereader I can just let it fall on my face and then roll it off. ;) The second thing that's different these days is that when my kid sees me with my phone (my usual reading device) she ignores me, but if I sit down with an actual book? Well, clearly Mom is BORED OUT OF HER MIND and has resorted to reading a book in her extreme desperation to be entertained, and kiddo has just the solution for that: endless questions, a craft that requires my help, etc. ;)

Yes, I might still abandon the book, but I gave it a good long break (6 months? 9 months?) and when I picked it up again last night, it seemed less boring? We'll see how it goes. Sometimes a person just has to wait for the right time to read a book. Also, I'm a strangely patient reader. I'll read something I have issues with so long as other aspects are meeting my needs.
