VOICE OVER……….free!!!!!

Remember that you can put in a request for a free copy of my most recent book of poems, VOICE OVER, by going to www.goodreads.com and go to “giveaways.”  Goodreads will pick 25 “winners” who will receive a copy of the book, signed!!  It would be great if each winner would write a review PRAISING the book!!  The deadline is Oct. 14.  I hope you get your request in and/or go to my website to see the other books of poems for sale.  Best to you, Michael.

Sean I was lucky enough to win a copy of your book - thanks for the opportunity! I will be sure to leave a review when I have read it, which I'm sure will be full of praise!

Michael Poage Hi, Sean - Thanks for your kind words and CONFIDENCE!! Please, if you can, let me know when the book arrives - I just want to make sure the winners are receiving VOICE OVER, esp. in a timely manner. My wife and I just spent a month in Scotland during Sept. and Oct. and had a great time. We wrote and walked along the shore of the North Sea - which I love - on the eastern coast and then on the northern coast. Be well.

Sean Thanks Michael. I hope it didn't rain too much - it can be a little wet in Scotland especially at this time of year. It is certainly a beautiful country and I have been a few times. I look forward to receiving the book. Take care.

Michael Poage Hi, Sean - I loved Scotland and, obviously, the North Sea. The weather was great. It rained once, maybe twice, other than occasional sprinkles. And it was never cold although I lived in Montana for twelve years where it got down to 47 below (F). Sometime I would like to stay at Portsoy for at least part of a winter. In Anstruther, at a bookshop, I bought a volume of poems by the Scottish poet, Meg Bateman, and really liked them. A friend of mine here in the states has introduced me to the work of Robin Robertson and William Letford. I have also been reading the work of the Welch poet, R.S. Thomas. Exciting stuff!! Do you write? I would love to see some of your work if you wish to email it to me. Be well. (cheers!!)

Sean I'm glad the weather was great - makes such a difference. I'm not familiar with those poets so I may look them up. It can get cold in the UK, but not too bad - not sure I'd like those temperatures! As for writing, the only works I produce are short stories for my daughters in poem form, usually lasting around 12 verses. I write them quickly and never edit them! If I put my mind to it perhaps I could do something, but time seems to be a factor as always...

Sean Received today - many thanks! I have started reading it already and am enjoying your work. The Thai restaurant in 'The Teardrop Garden' isn't the Thep Phenom, is it?!

Regards,
Sean

Michael Poage Hi, Sean - Glad you received the book!! Hopefully others will be or have received theirs soon. The Thai restaurant is in San Francisco, years ago, not even sure if it is still in operation. Enjoy the book and, again, thanks for requesting it!
Michael

Sean I went to a Thai restaurant in San Fran years ago - 1998?! - called the Thep Phenom; the description instantly made me think of it. It was in the Haight-Ashbury district I believe. Thanks again, Michael.

Kind regards,
Sean

Michael Poage By the way, I think it is great that you write poems, etc., for your daughters. What wonderful motivation! I did the same thing, sometimes disguising the author of the pieces.
Peace to you,
Michael

Sean Thanks! Maybe I will be inspired to do more through them and to start refining and editing it. You never know! Very best wishes, and thanks for chatting!
