It’s been a long time since I’ve uploaded any of my photography practice here. This past Friday, I headed out to the Santa Anita Race Track to watch the horses warm up before their race, and to practice panning.

Disclaimer: I have a love/hate relationship with horse racing. A childhood spent devouring Marguerite Henry novels means I love the excitement and the spirit and the horses and the Triple Crown—this makes me particularly frustrated with the industry’s cruel practices. Insert money into anything and it brings out the dark side in folks, doesn’t it? Still, I can’t help smiling when I see them thundering down the track.
