RIZAL RANSOMED: THE SAGA OF THE RIZAL MANUSCRIPTS
A lecture by Ambeth R. Ocampo for History Comes Alive!
June 29, 2013 | 3PM

Priceless since the time they were made in the late 19th century, Jose Rizal's surviving manuscripts are preserved in THE NATIONAL LIBRARY OF THE PHILIPPINES and the Lopez Museum and Library. In 1961 the manuscripts of Noli me Tangere, El Filibusterismo, and Mi Ultimo Adios were stolen from the National Library and held for ransom. The stories of their recovery and how these originally came to the National Library are stranger than fiction.

Kay Arellano Got lucky to be able to here this talk for free, in a less crowded audience. As expected from Sir Ocampo, the lecture is more interesting and informative than what you have expected.:) Please continue making the Philippine History more interesting.^^
