I'm sorry to hear that you're having a hard time - it sounds like a terrible situation to be in. I hope you have somewhere to go that will be better for you. I've always been a firm believer that you have to love your job (or, at the very least, enjoy being there) and when you don't, you need to take steps to get yourself out of there. That approach has always worked pretty well for me! After all, we spent the majority of our lives at work, and if we don't like it - then we're not liking the majority of our life. What a waste!! I know leaving isn't always an option, but even looking for a new job when I'm miserable has made me feel better!
Unfortunately, in my current situation, at least one of the negative people has spent the last, hmm, maybe ten years being negative about everything? I think it might just be a personality thing, not just a current situation thing.
I really hope things get better for you!
I am the most positive person you could ever meet. That being said - I have been at a job for 3 months now and it is terrible. I have tried to stay positive, hoping and praying that things will get better. The owner not only runs off staff, but also one director and one assistant. The new director - who is not a director yet - started today and is already taking over each classroom, telling us that we need to change this and this. Not one of us smiled. Not one of us listened. Not one of us acknowledged her as we left the room. I guess we were like the group you dealt with.
I guess the point of this is that you can only handle so much and that may be where they are at now. I, personally, can only handle so much. This job has taken away my smile and I will be leaving by the end of the week.
Don't hold it against them. They may not all be negative gits.
