Today I attended the Supanova Expo here in Melbourne, and met two of my writing idols in the flesh! And because the gods were kind, I even managed to spend about ten minutes talking books with them. I have met Robin Hobb as well, at a book signing here in Australia, but the queue was long and we only had time for the briefest of interactions, so Supanova was my first experience of really 'talking' to my idols. I must say it was fun, and if C.J.Cherryh ever comes to Melbourne I will move heaven and earth to meet her... even if it's only for ten seconds!
