Second Thoughts/Jitters

Even though we were delayed, for whatever reason I’m now having the ‘And why would anybody read what I have to say?’ thought process – which happens ironically not when I get in front of people but whenever I hand a project in – I can handle you face to face or in a crowd, the thought of later freaks me out a bit.


Eh, I talked about the irony of not being scared of running into a burning building but scared of doing badly at it years ago with my friends, so assume I’m over it and I’m just bein...

Judy Gill Ah, L.T., it's one of the most common author-type jitters. It's akin to letting your first-born (or second, or third) walk to or from school without you for the first time. "Oh, heavens, did I say that thing about strangers? Did I mention again about getting into cars with people, even if they tell you I've been hurt? Did I make sure the how-to-safely cross the street (railroad track) lesson was solidly absorbed? And on, and on, and on..." Even after more than 4 dozen novels, I still suffer from that terrible sense I must surely have forgotten something important.

Thanks Judy - I know by now I shouldn't be worried, but I guess over thinking things comes with the territory. Glad to know I'm not alone though - I guess in the end, it is what it is, and you just have to put that energy into the next project.
