What do you do while you're waiting to edit one book? How many edits do you tend to go through before you've found you absolutely can't do anything more to a book?

For those of you who haven’t yet discovered this, it’s generally not a good idea to start revising the moment after you finish a story. For me, I t...

Gail Levine Funny! That's a great ability. I also wish I could forget favorite books by other authors and read them again for the first time.

Maddie Ms. Levine, please excuse the off-topic comment but I really just have to remark on how amazing it is that I can read your comments here on Goodreads! As a semi-nomadic college student trying to find her way through this crazy world, your books were such a ridiculously huge part of my childhood, and being able to casually scroll through Goodreads and see you actively posting in my news feed is just incredible. I love it, thank you!

Gail Levine Thank you!

Megan When writing your first book, was it hard to stay on track? I mean, did you encounter writer's block often? Every time I try and write, because I do love to write, I always lose interest in what I'm writing, or I don't know what to do next in the story.

Gail Levine I had a lot of help. I took a class in writing for children and I belonged to a critique group. Both helped me get back on track, because, yes, I did wander off.

Megan Okay. Thanks. ^^ You make me feel like one day, maybe I could write a novel. You're such an encouraging person! It's lovely. ^^
