Hello everyone!
Spring has finally come to the Pacific Northwest. To celebrate the sunshine, I'm sending you a favorite photograph from my very own yard. To the right is my driveway, full of flowering plum trees.
The good news is that it's stunningly beautiful this time of year--the bad news is that it turns out I'm allergic to these very same gorgeous trees. I guess it's sort of like wearing high heels to a cocktail party--sometimes you just have to pay the price for beauty. For me, that...

Gina That is a gorgeous picture Kristin! It's so peaceful to look at this picture, I could imagine what it looks like in person. Thanks so much for sharing this photo with us. Love it.

Vivienne I have just finished reading FIREFLY Lane....wow what a book. I lost one of my best friends to breast cancer 4 years ago and lost my mum in may last year. this book brought it all home. I haven't cried that much in a long time. the impact it had on me was huge. I wrote to all my girlfriends and my sister this morning to tell them I loved them and they mean the world to me and that they have to read this book...thanks Kristin for one of the most amazing books I have read in a long time! regards Viv

Carey Devine True Colors was the first book I read by Kristin Hannah and I have not stopped I am currently on Winters garden because I have read all of them. Love the fact that she is from the Pacific Northwest I have lived in many towns for almost 10 years. I can relate and love the easy reading you bring. Thanks so much and I miss trees like this since I am in Alaska now :(

Andrea Distant Shores
Just finished reading Distant Shores. My question is, does the publisher determine the length of a book, in general terms? I would qualify this book as female romance literature, which I do not think encourages books longer than 350 to 420 pages.
I sense that in the industry there exists a tension between the writer crafting the book he knows in his heart, and the editor crafting a book that will be successfully published. And occasionally, I hope, the views come together.
