How did I sink so low?

I have just been contacted by the local junior college, Tarrant County College, in my home town of Ft. Worth. I have been told that one of their professors is using my book in her composition class. They are studying the plays of Shakespeare, the poems of Alfred Lord Tennyson, and me. They needed twenty-five more books for the rest of the class and wondered if I might have that many on hand that they could purchase.
Oh, how have I sunk so low as to be grouped with these no talent hacks?

Ann Correll Just had time to read up on what's happening around the reading world. I'm in the middle of dealing with the tragedy you said inspired you to write The Second Virgin Birth....enough said but you can guess where my mind and energy has been the last few months. Wanted you to also know that the realease date for books i've written is March 29. I've had little time to market so have not done a good job getting the work out. Loved your book Tommy, you are right, it will cause many who choose to forget it is a work of fiction to get their ire up a bit. Ha. When life slows down, I intend to go back and read it like a good book should be read and that's not peice meal.

Tommy I am so sorry to hear that you are having to deal with what I went through. You and your family will be in my nightly prayers.
I will start looking for your book around the 1st of April.

Anna Walls Ah - no :-( unfortunately, my publisher had some financial problems. There's been a delay and I'm not sure how long.

Richard An author is not without honor, except in the college in his own hometown. Haven't you ever read that saying?

No, I have not heard that one before. I knew of the one starting, A prophet is not without honor, except in his own hometown. But yours relates more to me.

Anna Walls I haven't heard that one before either though it does ring a bell, I just can't identify it. Tommy, my book finally came out the first of June and sales have been awesome, at least compared to my first book. Prince in Hiding - it's on Amazon in most any format.
