π How *The Gorie: Book 1 β Rise of the Messiah* Was Born π
In September 2023, I started writing *The Gorie: Book 1 β Rise of the Messiah*. At that time, South Africa was experiencing *loadshedding* power outages 2β3 times a day for a couple of hours.
One evening, just before my birthday, as the lights went out between 8β10 pm, my eldest daughter, nieces, and nephew came into my room, asking for a scary story. I told them about *The Gorie* and jokingly said it was a *new Netflix series.
My niece ran downstairs asking her dad to download the series. My brother called me, curious, and I had to laugh and explain I had made it all up! He laughed too, and we hung up.
But my eldest daughter encouraged me: βDad, this is excellent! You should write it down.β I dictated the story to her, she wrote the first chapter, and thatβs how *The Gorie: Book 1 β Rise of the Messiah* was born.
*The lesson? Donβt give up on your dreams.*
When others say youβre crazy, when it feels like youβre all alone, thatβs often when your breakthrough is happening. If you keep the faith and continue working honestly, amazing things can happen.
