Simon Heape Got to make you laugh, however preposterously long the books get the BBC always edits the story down to 240 minutes of TV drama which tells the whole story effectively and comprehensively. Rowling needs to kick out her editor, who allow her to be so self indulgent, and employ the BBC scriptwriter / editor and enforce a rule that no future books exceed 500 pages.

I looooove the length of the books! It consumes an entire weekend for me and I very much enjoy spending so much time with Strike and Robin.

Lauren Suarez Hi Simon, I would agree. I think the author would benefit from an editor that encourages them to 'trim the fat' in some cases.
