My new writing cave…

It’s been a long time since I’ve had a dedicated writing space. I’ve spent the last couple of years utilizing various spots in the house, hoping to find my muses again. Because that didn’t work, I decided I needed something with a bit more … structure. It took me a little time to come up with a design idea, to paint and get it all set up, but I think the end result is the perfect place for me to delve deep and let the muses run wild. I will say, I’ve written significantly more since I moved into my new office a few weeks ago, so I think that’s a good sign.

Here’s some inspiration I found on Etsy. The canvas images are from Sensual Expressions. The moment I saw them, I realized they were perfect for inspiration while writing. They came exactly as you see and I am so glad I found them.

I found these watercolors on Etsy. The artist’s name is Brenden Sanborn. He’s also got a website and a Facebook page where you’ll find more of his incredible art. I had been seeking gay art when I came across him. I highly recommend you check him out.

Now that my office is set up, you have nothing to fear. I’ve got my dutiful writing assistant, Hennessy, at my side, keeping me on task. When he’s not ordering me around, he enjoys watching out the window and barking at anyone who walks by.

I hope you enjoyed that brief tour. So, what do you think?

Shirley Long I'm not sure I'd be able to work in that space. I think I'd find myself just staring at the walls and just letting my imagination run wild. O, maybe that's what you do, huh?? :):)
Seriously it's a beautiful space to work. I loved the design and the furniture and the whole dam thing. Now when I'm reading your work, I'll imagine you sitting right there in that amazing looking chair typing away as you create your magical words.
