And thank you. I just finished giving an interview, after which I felt like I had just exposed myself as a crazy person. In part, I described "how I write" by saying that parts of the story "write themselves, as if I'm just transcribing my muse." After finishing the interview, I was worried that readers would think, "Okay, so she's just nuts." Or maybe, "What a liar -- she's trying to make it sound magical." (Which it is.)
Thankfully, I also said something to the effect that "creating a story is creating art. There is no right way." I can't tell you how validated I felt when I read your post! Maybe that just means we're both crazy people, but then again, it's nice to know I'm not alone!
