Hello, anybody there?

One Stolen Kiss and other short stories by Anna Faversham

The cat on the cover is meowing again. Something to do with being ignored. So to cheer Angela up, here’s an exactly one hundred word story, which is called a drabble, from the book:

The Writing Group ©

I sometimes like to help by dropping in unexpectedly on struggling writing groups. This one met in a café.
I introduced myself as Charlie. Everyone read an excerpt of their work, including me.
“It’s entitled ‘A Christmas Carol’,” I said and began to read. “Marley was dead: to begin with. There is no doubt whatsoever about that.”
“Let me stop you there,” said the group leader.
Oh drat! I’d been rumbled.
“Tad overwritten, Charlie. If there’s no doubt about it, why have you said ‘to begin with’?”
I gave up: I left the way I came - through the wall.

Now I hope that Angela, that’s the cat’s name, will now feel better that one of the most famous authors in the world has just been featured from her book. If you want to read Angela’s story, here’s the Goodreads link

One Stolen Kiss and other short stories

For readers: If you would like me to attempt to interview a Goodreads Indie author, then nominate someone and I’ll try and corner them.

For authors: If you would like me to interview you for the blog, I’ll happily do so, and it will probably be the shortest interview you’ve ever had, there will be just one question. This is so I don’t take up your valuable writing time :-)

For everybody: Want to write a drabble? Must be exactly one hundred words and should be a complete story in itself. Add it to the comments, if you like.

Sage Saying: There comes a time when you have to stop crossing oceans for people who wouldn’t jump puddles for you
Handy Hint: If your cat needs a pill, chop it up and stir it into fish paste. Probably won't work!
Stress Reducer: Faced with a pile of bitty jobs to do? Try the ‘pick it up – deal with it’ approach. Announce ‘pick it up – deal with it’ each time. Very satisfying.

★ Have a great November, everyone.

Louise Bélanger I’m up for an author’s interview. 😊 Sounds like fun. Great idea Anna!

Anu Kay Hi Anna! So exciting! I would like to take part in author's interview. Look forward to that one question from you!

Anna Faversham Louise and Anu, I'll message you with the question and I hope to be able to include the answers in my Christmas Special blog post.

Thank you for responding :-)

Anna

message 4: by Claire (new)

Claire Datnow I am intrigued by your one question interview. I will be happy to be interviewed as an author,

message 5: by Anna (new)

Anna Faversham I've just tried to message you Claire and Goodreads says it doesn't recognize you! (I think they have a new rule which is scuppering connecting with non GR Friends).

Would you mind trying to send me a message, then I can answer it. Let me know if it fails and I have a back-up plan.

message 6: by Rick (new)

Rick Norris I am up for review, when you have a chance. By the way, I am enjoying "Immortality." I was speaking to my wife the other night about it. It will take me a while to complete it, but I will, and leave a review about its uniqueness as a Christian-based novel.

message 7: by Anna (new)

Anna Faversham So pleased to hear you are enjoying 'Immortality: This is Probably a Novel.' I expect you are beginning to work out why the subtitle fits the book by now.

I'll message you with the interview question Rick.

message 8: by T.K. (new)

T.K. Arispe I'd love to be interviewed for the blog! And I love your drabble--sounds like some writing groups I've tried to be a part of. I would write my own, but my brain is not feeling very creative today.

Sage Saying, so true. My cat actually likes the taste of his probiotics so I haven't had any trouble giving them to him. He does, however, just like to eat the broth of his wet food and leave behind all the chunks.

Have a lovely November!

message 9: by Anna (new)

Anna Faversham Hi T.K., thanks for visiting my blog again with your good wishes. I've sent you a personal message with the question and I look forward to your answer.

message 10: by David (new)

David Knott Hi Anna, I'm intrigued too by your single question interview. If possible, I'd love to take part.
Thanks David

message 11: by Anna (new)

Anna Faversham Thank you, David. I'll message you with the question and I look forward to your answer very much!

Anna Faversham It seems I can't message you. I've asked you to become my Goodreads Friend in the hope this changes things.

Apparently, Goodreads has changed its rules and it is now not so easy to privately message another member.

You could try messaging me and see if it works.

message 13: by Kathleen (new)

Kathleen Buckley Anna,
I'm really late replying (a perfect storm of writing, baking for a Toys for Tots bake sale, going over third edits, cat vet appointments, and reviewing audio files) but I'd love to be interviewed, too.

message 14: by Anna (new)

Anna Faversham That's fine, Kathleen, as I won't be able to get them all in the same month anyway. I'm always juggling 101 other things too!

I'll message you with the question.

message 15: by Anna (new)

Anna Faversham Hi Paul, thanks for telling us about your book. I'm afraid the interviews have finished now. I might do them again some time in the future so do please keep watch!

message 16: by Paul (new)

Paul Clayton Okay, Anna. Thanks for responding.

Anna Faversham If you go to the latest blog post, you'll find there's an opportunity to choose your favourite opening line from one of your own books.
