There's long list of writers, including you, who have sought to understand that evil actions and results tend to be systemic in nature. The accumulation of vast wealth both by individuals and especially by societies tends to corrode our humanity. Wealthy societies wage brutal wars against far weaker opponents—not for a just cause in reality—but because they can. Vietnam, Grenada, Afghanistan, Iraq are among the invasion targets of a wealthy country's ire. The upper middle classes in wealthier countries continue to consume plastics and burn fossil fuels with little regard to the long term health of our planet. These are not the actions of just a handful of billionaires, but the consequences of the vast power of those with much more than they need but not as much as they want.
