It's time to celebrate!

If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you already know my good news, but I'll share it here just in case some of you missed it.
On Monday, I heard from my wonderful editor at Penguin, who said she "loved, loved, loved" Defiant and felt "haunted" by it. I was in the shower when she called, but when I heard her message, which was so glowing, I got so excited I forgot how to use my cell phone and kept pushing the wrong buttons in my attempt to call her back.

We talked for about 20 minutes about parts of the book she had found particularly touching, parts of the book where I wondered whether I had successfully pulled of this scene or that scene. I was so relieved to hear that she felt all of the emotions in the book were earned. She predicts lots of tears, so make sure you have tissues handy come July.
July 3

And here's some news I haven't shared: Although this book is long — longer than anything I've written — she's not changing it. No revisions. Nothing. What I wrote is what you'll get, together with an afterword and some very special artwork.

So break out the champagne and the chocolate!

We also talked about the reissue of Ride the Fire , which now has a publication date of February 2013. I'm not sure why it's so far off in the future. It will feature a fresh edit, the never-before-released-as-yet-unwritten epilogue, and a new cover.

We also talked I-Team briefly. She's scheduled me for March 2013 for the next I-Team book, which will feature the former television broadcast reporter who takes Natalie's place on the I-Team.

I will have an ad put together soon (I hope) that you can copy and put on your blogs and FB pages if you want to help spread the word about the book. For whatever reason, Colonial America is a harder sell with romance readers, so I have that uphill battle to fight, along with the fact that I haven't had a new historical out since 2008.

In the meantime, those of you who haven't met the MacKinnon Brothers have roughly five months to catch up with Surrender , the first book in the series, and Untamed , the second. Both are newly re-edited and re-issued with new content and new covers.

Thanks for your continued support on Project: Happiness. I'll have updates on my progress soon!

In the meantime, Seductive Musings is giving away a digital copy of Sweet Release to one Musings follower to celebrate February and Valentine's Day. Click here to be entered for a chance to win! And thanks to Seductive Musings for the giveaway.

KristenReviews Yaay! Congratulations, Pamela! I'm so excited that we will be able to read Defiant the way you intended the book to be read. Plus, I almost broke out in tears over the news about Ride the Fire. The book is my all time favorite and I'm beyond excited it will be reissued (for ebook too, right?) and will include an epilogue. I always wished for an epilogue and can't express enough how excited and happy I am the book will finally have one.

Congratulations again, Pamela. I'm excited for you!

Pamela Hi, Kristen — Yes, RTF will be available as an ebook, too. I'm so happy it will finally be available again, though I wish it would be out sooner.

I wasn't able to write the epilogue because writing the book was too draining. I just couldn't even face the story any longer by the time I wrote the last chapter. But now that I'll be editing, not writing, I'll be able to give Bethie and Nicholas more of a happy ending.

Thanks so much for the good wishes! :-)

Karla Wow...so much great news, I don't know which way to turn. Oh my, I can't wait for Defiant, less than 5 months away!! Yikes and RTF re-issue, with an epilogue, and like Kristen said...ebook?! *fingers crossed*

Another I-team book, please say all the boys will be back...please! Are you still writing the short stories with the guys? I hope so.

Congratulations Pamela, so much good news for someone so deserving!

message 4: by Pamela (new)

Pamela Yes, Karla, I'm going to be writing some I-Team novellas that will feature the guys between now and the release date for DEFIANT. Then I'll be doing the next I-Team book with all the guys back (as many as I can fit in the story).

And RTF will definitely be available as an e-book. :-)

P.

message 7: by Pamela (new)

Pamela You're welcome, Karla!

Thank you, Wminbc! I'm so glad you found me. And, yes, more I-Team members and more I-Team books. :-)

I love that whole Colorado area (my sister is in the CS/Divide area and I have loved all my visits). Have an absolutely awesome night...and write, write, write...cause I love reading it! Karia

Pamela It is beautiful here, though I love the beach and the ocean. We don't have that here.

I promise to write as fast as I can. Watch for some I-Team novellas as ebooks soon, starting with Megan's story (Marc's little sister). That's what I'm working on now.

Vicki Can't wait for the Defiant book. And the Epilogue on RTF. I read that book forever ago but it has always stuck with me. Can't wait for the update.

message 11: by Patricia (new)

Patricia Congratulations Pamela. I have Defiant on pre-order. In the meantime, I've got my hands on the entire I-Team series and have started reading the first in the series. Once again, you deserve highest accolades for your masterful writing. In my opinion, there isn't any other author/writer out there who matches your talent.

message 12: by Pamela (new)

Pamela Hi, Vicki — I'm happy to know that RTF was memorable for you. I think it was the book where I truly found my voice as a writer.

As for DEFIANT, I'm working on a blog post where I share what I can without giving anything away. I am so excited for this book's release!

Hi, Patricia — Thanks so much! I don't even know what to say. I really appreciate your kind words. Thanks, too, for giving the I-Team a try. I hope you enjoy them!

message 13: by MelissaB (new)

MelissaB Congrats Pamela! I am so excited!

I just finished rereading the new editions of Surrender and Untamed (I had a great time reading them), now I plan on rereading your other historicals as I wait for Connor, I still have the new version of Carnal Gift to read. Hopefully I will be done before the baby comes and my free time disappears!

message 14: by Pamela (new)

Pamela Hi, Melissa — I'm so glad you enjoyed SURRENDER and UNTAMED 2.0. When is your baby due? What an exciting time for you!

CARNAL GIFT, much more than any of the others, will seem like a completely different book, given how many pages were cut from the first edition of the story.

I hope you're feeling well! And do let me know when you're due...
