Can you sense m..."
I've come into the middle of this, so I'm not totally sure of the context. I don't exactly know the story of the two men you mention either BUT it sounds like it's based on the Greek myth of Sisyphus, a king who was punished for his sins by Zeus by being made to roll a large rock up a hill, only for it to roll back down again just as he almost reached the top. So he had to go down and begin again, same story, so he had to do it for eternity.
Any help? Good luck.

I've looked up the text of the sketch and it is shown here under the heading 'Sisyphus': https://j-f-s-p.livejournal.com/5054....
Hades the baddie is upset because although Sisyphus is supposed to be being punished, he loves the challenge. Hades is very cross because he devised something which has backfired.
The punchline by Zeus, as it sinks in, is terrific.
Thanks so much, Laura.

I hadn't heard of him but I'll check him out. Thanks, Anna.
That queue has to be orderly. But naughty Chester, the protagonist in my latest book, pushed and shoved his way to the front and would not shut up so I let him out.
Readers, we're not mad, maybe eccentric. Ahem.
