Rae Lee Pamela - Last September I saw the same scene at Artist Pt., after hiking the Chain Lakes trail. That was one of the most exhilerating hikes of my life, with so much of the trail under stable snow. We boot skied, and when we yelled things like YIPPEEEEEEEEEE! the dogs barked. No avalanche danger then, but your advice is well taken. Thanks for your excellent outdoor posts. Rae Ellen Lee
