Talking Books and Sneakers on Local Radio

Have you been looking for a quick and fun listen? Haven’t heard from me in a while?

Well, here in the cold of December, I have a throwback to the summer heat and my interview on local radio station WRSI The River – “Where different is good.”

Here in the Pioneer Valley, we have a unique radio DJ who has reached super hero status. He’s named Monte Belmonte. That’s his name, he’s on the radio, AND he’s basically the most famous guy around. Really! That’s the power of Monte and radio here. We have that sort of small-town vibe. Even in 2020. Believe it.

This summer I met him, respected his kicks, which turned out to be thrift store specials, and we got to talking books and more. Turns out he became a fan of The Maltese Jordans.

Here’s the complete conversation during drivetime radio in the morning. Enjoy!

Jon.h I love FM radio and old school dj's, the kind we don't have around much these days. I grew up with Alison Steele, "the nightbird" on WNEW-FM. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alison_... Look forward to listening to this post Seth. And I sure enjoyed Maltese Jordan's ending with the visit to the boardroom. (Let's fire that dude.) Best wishes to Monte, I'm going to check him out on radio.com
