message 1: by Lori (new)

Lori I found it very interesting as to how author, Larry Kahn, dissects and describes a secondary character in his novel KING OF PAINE. In this case a female (Jolynn Decker) who has a deep history with the protagonist (Frank Paine) and who takes the reader through waves of mystery throughout the novel.

Mr. Kahn effectively gives Jolynn many sides which, like he says, is only told through the protagonist's words. Jolynn turns out to be not only a mysterious woman but a very illuminating one as well. Bravo to the author for being able to make charm jump off the page between the protagonist and Jolynn Decker especially as the novel begins to wind down. That does not ALWAYS make two hearts beat as one... one just never knows. Both characters have their own special charm and only the readers of this great novel will be pleasantly pleased with both of these characters!

Thank you Larry for describing how you fleshed out secondary character Jolynn Decker and made her a dynamic part of the novel itself!
