Stuff and Nonsense

Some of you may be aware we had a bit of a tangle on the Dark In Death Discussion thread last week. A reader had strong (very) objections to the word skank as used to describe women Eve and Peabody warned about possible danger. I don’t want to get more specific on the plot itself … Continue reading Stuff and Nonsense →

Dominika People are strange 😀 I love your books and I can't wait the next one!

message 2: by Sydney (new)

Sydney I second Dominika's opinion. Can't wait to read the next book. :)

message 3: by Millie (new)

Millie I devour every story and can't wait for more. As for a problem with a word that in my opinion is not the worst I've ever heard or read, the reader just needs to get over it. :)

Tina Alicea People are crazy...simple: if you don't like it don't read it and move on...Personally, I love your books, so I say great job writing!!

message 5: by Dee (new)

Dee Readers need to enjoy the journey! And understand that a character's voice is not the author's and vice-versa! (Tbh I read the book and I don't think what Peabody said was wrong!). Your books are amazing and I cannot wait for the next In Death book!

message 6: by Dawn (new)

Dawn Cross Nora, I have read most of your books, and all of The In Death Series. I have enjoyed every single one and I can hardly wait the 6 months before the next one is out. I love your style of writing and how realistic it is to the reader. You let your characters experience lifes ups and downs and resolve their personal issues and loss if that happens to be the problem. Keep writing the way you do, no one has the right to tell you to change how you develop your characters and how they should act. I read your books for entertainment, I find myself trying to guess whos done it way before the end of book. Its a game to me. To me your one of the best writers out there and you will never be able to please everyone, just keep writing the way you do! I know that I will keep buying your books because I enjoy them.

Tammy Wow I realize on a regular basis that I don't understand people at all, but sometimes the things people do just blows my mind! That anyone would believe that they have a right to tell any author what they should or shouldn't write is just crazy to me! If you don't like how a particular author writes you just don't read their work, no one is going to force you! I, personally, have always enjoyed Nora Roberts books, and though I haven't yet read any of the JD Robb ones I am looking very forward to starting them soon. Miss Roberts you have many, many fans out here who love the way you write. I would say stay true to yourself and the way you work and forget (if possible!) the nuts out there!

message 8: by Abha (new)

Abha There are all sorts of people out there. Can't understand them all. I LOVE the In Death series (please notice the caps). Waiting excitedly for your next book..!!

message 9: by Denise (new)

Denise I have read every one of the In Death series and always look forward to the next. Nora Roberts books are always amazing too! It just goes to prove that you can't please everyone all the time! Your fan base and sales speak for itself! Don't ever stop writing and kudos to you for expressing your opinion on the blog despite the "naysayers"!

Karen How ironic that this has come to pass after a book about an obsessed fan...Nora, you're absolutely right! No one is the boss of you; you can use whatever words you wish for your characters and so one. Words are so powerful and arguably, should not be used lightly and indiscriminately. I say YOU have the power and more if it to you! I am addicted to everything you have written and own most of it(sometimes in multiple copies). I reread your books continually and sequentially and just finished In Death for the 3rd time to date. Stay well and if I do get a vote: please don't kill off anyone I like. :)
Thank you!

Pooja just wanted to say that since you are the author. you have the right to write whatever you want to write. these are your stories, so you can decide anything. a reader has the right to like or dislike your novel. that however does not give him or her the right to insult you .
personally speaking, i wait impatiently for your novels to come out and to read them in 1 go. i might not have liked each and everyone of them to the same degree, but they are your novels, so i know that they are going to be well written and that i will enjoy them.
all i ask is that you please continue to write, as you are my favorite author,
thanks
