Fantasy that isn't heavy on the weapons?

The more I read of currently popular fantasy, the more dismayed I am that there tends to be such a huge focus on weaponry and fighting and the protagonists being (or becoming) martial arts geniuses. I stick with some of these books anyway if, such as in The Hunger Games, they're written really well and the plot and characters are compelling. Rosie Have you read "The Last Year" series yet? If you're looking for a fantasy series that isn't heavy on weaponry it might be right up your alley. There is fighting but it isn't the main focus and they don't magically become "marital arts geniuses" :)

Molly Ringle I would like that metaphor except that I love dark chocolate as a food and detest white chocolate. It isn't even chocolate! :D
