borders finale
I'll confess that when I saw the headline, I found myself getting awfully sentimental, sad even, although compared to half the other big stories, it's not a matter of death and life. But Ann Arbor, I'm sure, will never be the same.

I just stopped by the Borders on State St. here in Chicago, and what a sad sight it was. The upper two floors were totally closed off, and even with everything consolidated on the first floor it was almost completely picked over. 90% off most fiction, and still nothing I wanted - and I'm a chronic book buyer.
