I like full day..."Yeah-- it is a full day kindergarten, and part of me is really glad, because it's me at home after working out and time to write. After writing so long withOUT time to write, unless I stay up really late, I don't know what I'll do with myself! (But all crunch/sweet/easy-to-eat carbs need to be PUT AWAY before I sit down.) A part of me is really depressed because she is my BABY and I thought I'd have oNE MORE YEAR of BABY before I fed her to the wolves.
E-books tend to be on a submission only basis--so every time I finish a book, I go through the submission process, like everyone else. However, for some presses, if you've worked with them for a while and they have a feel for what you write, they will ask you if you have anything working that's a good fit with them in the next few months, so they can leave a little room on the schedule for you. It's not a guarantee, but it is a consideration, and I'm very grateful for it. Since I'm a good fit with DSP, I tend to plan my submissions their way. If I'm thinking a menage title (and I was thinking about menage after Jack & Teague) I tell my editor at Torquere, and she lets me know if they're interested. But I still have to submit it, and it's still a charge when it's accepted:-)
And Zoomboy got a new hat today. It's a squid hat. He really IS a tanned squid!
I understand what you mean about your baby. :) I've had parents try to convince themselves that their child shouldn't go to K b/c "they aren't ready" and try to keep them in one more year of preschool. Then, we try to gently talk them off the ledge and convince them that their child is ready, but they aren't. *grin*Thanks for the publishing explanation. Do you handle all your publishing business or do you have an agent?(is that the correct term?) I guess I did know about the publishing houses catering to certain genres - JR Ward explains that in her Insider's Guide - but I didn't transfer that knowledge to M/M. :)

And I don't have an agent--in fact, six of my books are self-published, which means I front the expenses and iuniverse handles distribution. (It's easy to guess which ones those are:-) And DSP ONLY handles m/m--pretty much every other pub allows for other romantic subgenres:-)

I have a question about new books. I don't know much about the publishing world, so this is going to show my ignorance. Do you have a contract with Dreamspinner Press for so many books or does each possible new book make the rounds of publishing houses?
Zoomboy looks quite dapper in his new hat. *grin*
