I hope you're ready for LODESTAR--because it's HERE! (And so is the paperback of NEVERSEEN!)

So here we are again.

Today is the day.

LODESTAR, my shiny book baby now officially makes its way into the world. I can only give it one last hug before letting it go and wishing it well:

LODESTAR is now yours.

I hope you love it as much as I do.

The story won't always go the way you're expecting it to--and I have a feeling this one will make you shout at the pages and fling the book into the wall (or maybe kick it) and ugly-cry at least once (I know I did as I wrote it). But if it does, that means I'm doing my job right. (Just make sure you don't accidentally hit anyone when you throw it--this thing is heavy. You could hurt someone!)

And I hope the story also makes you laugh, and cheer for the characters, and keep racing through those pages until the very end (and yes, I fully expect you to immediately demand book 6--sorry, I'm writing as fast as I can!)

And LODESTAR isn't the only book I have releasing today. The NEVERSEEN paperback is also (finally) hitting shelves, so for those of you who've been oh-so-(im)patiently awaiting that format so you can read--or who just like to collect my books--THE WAIT IS OVER! Tinier, paper-covered NEVERSEEN is HERE!

Thank you for reading this series. If it weren't for you guys buying the books (or requesting them at your library), and telling your friends about them, and posting about them on your social media, and posting reviews on amazon and goodreads and Barnes and Noble, I would've had to cut the story short long ago. You made books 6 and 7 possible. Thank you thank you thank you!

Oh, and one small plea: PLEASE remember that not everyone will be able to read the book immediately. Some have to wait for their copies to ship, or for it to be their turn at the library, or for birthday gifts or holiday gifts--or all kinds of other reasons. So try to be respectful with where/if you post any spoilers. I have a strict No Spoilers policy on this website and all of my social media, so I'll be deleting any posted there that I see (and no, marking it *spoiler alert* first won't make it okay. Neither will "vague spoilers"). But I'll also be traveling for the next three weeks, so I won't be able to check in as often, so *please please please* save that kind of thing for your own groups and feeds.

And here's hoping I'll get to meet some of you at my events while I'm on tour. Here's the full schedule of where to find me (and for more details on which ones do and don't require tickets, go HERE):

I also have some other fun things planned for the weeks ahead, including a special giveaway (and yes, I'll also release the LODESTAR playlist. I like to wait a few weeks, since sometimes the songs can be considered spoilers)
Okay, I guess I should stop rambling and let you guys get reading. Hope you enjoy!!!!
Oh, and as per tradition, here's a handy word cloud I made of the most commonly used words in LODESTAR. Happy reading!

**PS: if you took part in the pre-order swag giveaway, don't worry, your swag will be in the mail as soon as I can. I can't mail things while I'm traveling, but I'll do my best to get them on their way ASAP--and I always post a pic on Instagram when they go in the mail, so keep an eye out!**

Hermit Well, just a quick question... If your parents were forbidding you from seeing someone and they thought you liked them, would you say, "Yes dad and bodyguard, I do like them." No, you would deny it. She would deny liking Fitz too if they asked... She likes them both, but doesn't know what to do...

message 52: by *Ramya* (new)

*Ramya* :)

message 53: by *Ramya* (new)

*Ramya* Exactly. Couldn't have said (in this case, typed) it better, Joel!

message 54: by *Ramya* (new)

*Ramya* Although I don't really think Keefe is annoying-it's just that, well, Fitz and Sophie are so perfect for each other. And yes, I'm one of those people who wants everything to be perfect in the end.

message 55: by Hermit (new)

Hermit would you admit to your parent and goblin body guard that you liked someone....

message 56: by Hermit (new)

Hermit i will say though that sophitz is growing on me... i feel like a trader, but it is the truth and i was originally for sophitz, but i have a lot in common with keefe, so yeah...

message 57: by *Ramya* (new)

*Ramya* Keeper Fanatic wrote: "would you admit to your parent and goblin body guard that you liked someone...."

No-never!

message 58: by *Ramya* (new)

*Ramya* But...Sophie never thinks that she likes Keefe. either.

message 59: by Katerina (new)

Katerina THIS BOOK WAS SO AMAZING!!!! I reread the entire series in the course of a week and it was amazing

message 60: by jpnmusings (new)

jpnmusings Yup, great book! And what I meant is that we are in Sophie's head all the time and during that conversation she never once thought about how she was hiding it, or lieing to Grady. So it's just as likely that she doesn't like him as it is that she does, when with Sophitz, it's quite obvious that they like each other which is more than Sokeefe has at the moment.

message 61: by Hermit (new)

Hermit this is true and darn you people and your smartness and darn my perfectionism getting in the way... is transferring ships allowed, like can i become a sophitzer...

message 62: by *Ramya* (new)

*Ramya* Welcome aboard! Sophitz has perfectness, loveliness, and you're guaranteed to be supported no matter what crazy scheme you participate in. Heck, you can even be a scientific experiment and we wouldn't care.

message 63: by Hermit (new)

Hermit yay!!!!!!!!! I am adopted... that's something...

message 64: by *Ramya* (new)

*Ramya* Wow! That means you have something really cool in common with Sophie!

I TOTALLY AGREE!!!! I MEAN WHO COULDN'T LOVE KEEFE WITH ALL HIS CHARM???? that might be the grossest yet most true thing I have ever said. I just don't like Fitz. He reminds me of those perfect celebrities that are nice when they're on camera but a whole other person when they are not. I know that Fitz isn't as bad though... but still... TEAM FOSTER-KEEFE FOREVER!!!!!!! ;)

message 66: by Rishima (new)

Rishima Dex is also sweet though...

message 67: by *Ramya* (new)

*Ramya* But...but...but...what?

Please tell me you're kidding. Fitz is one of the sweetest characters I have ever read about in my 5 year history of reading.

message 68: by jpnmusings (new)

jpnmusings Same.

message 69: by *Ramya* (new)

*Ramya* Glad someone gets me :)

message 70: by jpnmusings (new)

jpnmusings :)

message 71: by Hermit (new)

Hermit Fitz is super nice and I just wanted it stated for the record that shannon wrote Fitz's grief to the point. I have delt with heart break and death and that is how I reacted, so yeah. But fitz is the best!!!

message 72: by *Ramya* (new)

*Ramya* !I definitely agree-I mean, after Exile, there should have been no, "but Fitz is too perfect! But Fitz has no depth!" but I hear it everywhere!

It is very frustrating to me, seeing as I can actually relate to Fitz a lot and tell what he's feeling 98%. Trust me, I love virtues characters. I actually like Fitz more because he is misunderstood a lot-even by Dex-and don't even get me started on the people who hate Fitz. I mean, HE'S ONE OF THE BEST!!!!!!! Why are you saying he is too perfect! In the first three books, you can see way more of Fitz's flaws than Keefe's. The only reason everyone thinks he's perfect is because he manifested the rarest ability at the youngest age-before Sophie showed up. I think the reason it took so long for Fitz to actually see Sophie properly and realize he liked her, is because HE WAS JEALOUS OF HER! Let's be honest with ourselves: we don't act the nicest when we're jealous. Until Neverseen, Fitz didn't truly get past those feelings-and so, now, in Lodestar, he knows his feelings for Sophie and is finally showing them. Now let's just hope he wasn't too late.

Who agrees with me?

message 73: by Hermit (new)

Hermit I!!!!

message 74: by Hermit (new)

Hermit ratherbereading wrote: "Yeah.... HUGE MAJOR HORRIBLE CLIFFHANGER."

It was a huge major horrible cliff hanger, but there are even more words to describe what shannon has done, like horrid, treacherous, unbelievable, despicable, evil, awesome though....

message 75: by *Ramya* (new)

*Ramya* Totally true.

message 76: by *Ramya* (new)

*Ramya* Well. It's not evil.

message 77: by Rishima (new)

Rishima But horrid, treacherous, unbelievable, despicable, and awesome are definitely true... :|

message 78: by Rishima (new)

Rishima WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 79: by jpnmusings (new)

jpnmusings *sobs*

message 80: by Rishima (new)

Rishima BUT KEEFE IS SO IMPERFECTLY PERFECT!!!!! WHO COULDN'T LOVE HIM?????????????? I still don't like Fitz as much as dex and especially KEEFEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

message 81: by Rishima (new)

Rishima Ramya wrote: "Keeper Fanatic wrote: "would you admit to your parent and goblin body guard that you liked someone...."

message 83: by *Ramya* (last edited Dec 05, 2016 06:43PM) (new)

*Ramya* I love all of them, but I LOVE Sophie's selflessness, which is something of legend to me, and I'm a lot like Fitz personality wise!

message 84: by Rishima (new)

Rishima I'm more like KEEFE personality wise. KEEFE IS AWESOMEEEEE! I am in no way complimenting myself cause honestly I think I am reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy weird.

message 85: by Rishima (new)

Rishima strange things are happening to me...

message 86: by *Ramya* (new)

*Ramya* Like what?

Just now, my parents and I were discussing whether or not we should house a high school student who's family was moving away, but she wanted to stay and complete her education in the same high school. I can't believe that we *might* have someone new in our house!

message 87: by *Ramya* (new)

*Ramya* Talk about strange but awesome!!!!!

I think that is really cool! You should totally say yes and introduce her to KOTLC if she isn't a fan already! There is no age limit to reading this book! I will totally be reading book 7 when I am two years older!!!

message 90: by *Ramya* (last edited Dec 06, 2016 09:14PM) (new)

*Ramya* I know right! I introduced Keeper Of the Lost Cities to a lot of people-only like, 7 of them read the books, but still, I'm spreading the fandom!

(My mom was one of the people who read the books. Of course, I kinda forced her to read the books, but she loves them! Also, my mom thinks Keefoster is more likely to happen-I've had a BUNCH of arguments with her on this, and when I bring up Sophitz's almost-kiss, she says something like, "is this the stuff you're interested in now?" and I'm like, "ew!" and back off. HATE it when parents say/do stuff like that!!!!!!)

:)

message 91: by malayna (new)

malayna True. I mean, we are talking about book characters!!! (Even though they are kind of real to me) ;)

message 92: by Rishima (new)

Rishima It's so cool that you're gonna have someone move into your house!

message 93: by *Ramya* (new)

*Ramya* Maybe we will
