So what happened to Patricia’s cat, anyway?

After All the Birds in the Sky got published, one of the biggest questions I got was about Berkley, Patricia’s pet cat who she befriends in the first half of the book. Berkley’s fate is kind of left hanging after the book is over, and people were like, “But what happened to the cat???”   I realized this was a huge problem, because Patricia promises to protect this cat always, and he’s a very important figure in her life. 

So what happened to Berkley? I had to write a whole story to resolve his story. It’s called “Clover,” and it’s up now at Tor.com.
