I can't compare it to anything I've read exactly - it is, above all, intense, sci-fi noir, with the political/underworld intersections of Chinatown, and a tremendous twist at the end that takes it above and beyond all that steaminess into transcendence. It grabs you from the opening and never lets go. Entertaining, absolutely, but thought-provoking to a degree that will leave you walking backwards through the story to pick out all the implications. Very current, very timeless. A gem."
