The Hidden Oracle!

HIDDEN ORACLE Final cover

Thanks to everyone who came to our launch event in Boston on Tuesday, May 3! We had a sold-out crowd and I loved hearing your questions and sharing your enthusiasm. And thanks to everyone on social media who has already responded to the new series with such love and appreciation. I’ve got the best readers in the world! It’s always a relief to me when I hear that I met your expectations in a new volume.

If you haven’t picked up your copy of The Hidden Oracle yet, it is now available anywhere books are sold in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. I’m not sure about the other markets. I don’t get that info. But if it’s not yet available where you live, I’m sure the publishers are working hard to get it into your hands as soon as possible!

And if you missed the usual “Coming in 2017” at the end of The Hidden Oracle, I did too! Here is the title of book two, which will be here next October:

Trials of Apollo BOOK 2 type cover 2P

Also the Rick Riordan website has just had a facelift. Check it out and let me know what you think!

message 361: by Emily (new)

Emily It's gross where I live- feels like 88 degrees but the fact that it's humid makes it even worse. I wish it would rain to cool things off but nope, we have been plagued with sunny weather. Thanks a lot Apollo-Dad! :)

message 362: by Evelin (new)

Evelin Opps. I make a mistake I use fahrenheit not celcius. Maybe because I use to use celcius were I use to live.

message 363: by Zara (new)

Zara I'm gonna stay off goodreads for a few days until my data resets.
And also I have been on a plane over 20 times but never on a proper holiday ( only ever to two places; the place I used to live in; and the place I now live in). And my ears hurt so much on aeroplanes I hate them.

message 376: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine I didn't preorder the Cursed Child because I don't know how I would like to read a script instead of a book. I hope it's not in script form, because that would be very annoying. Also, I don't care to read if J.K. didn't write it herself. The play was directed by other people, so I want to see other people's reactions before I actually purchase it. It has very high hopes, but something tells me a few people might not be happy with it. I do want to see Fantastic Beasts when it comes out!

message 377: by N.E.S (new)

N.E.S I've read script books.....there not so bad....plus if it isn't good (i have faith =) i'll give it to my other potterhead friend

message 378: by N.E.S (new)

But, man he older than I thought.

I am most likely going to preorder The Dark Prophecy. The only problem with this new Trials of Apollo series is the time between the books. It is one year between each one, and I'm going to hugh school in a few days. That means I will be a senior when the last book comes out. I was thinking that I might be too old to actually like it when it comes out. Hopefully not

It took me a minute to realise you meant high school as in high school not high school as in secondary school because Most people call high school secondary school.

message 383: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Well it is har to figure it out. Like in Norway we are in high school when it is 11- 13 grade i think. Btw I never preorder any book like I said. Waiting when it comes out i have a lot to read. And very busy with school after the holiday.

The funny thing is I have birthday soon in January which is 5 month left. Then I am going to be 16

message 384: by Zara (new)

Zara Grade 13? What?

message 385: by Zara (new)

Zara We have:
Primary- grades K-6
Secondary- grades 7-12

Do you count kindergarten (K) as grade 1?

message 386: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Nope 1 grade is when we are 6-7 years i think

message 387: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She in high school we are 16-18/19 i think

message 388: by Zara (new)

Zara I am so confused.
In Australia most people start school aged 5-6 some 4-5.

message 389: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She It is pretty comfusing I know. But I am not 100% sure.

message 390: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She We go 10 years then 3 years in high school and next is university

message 391: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine In America we have K3 K4 K5 or Kindergarten. K3 is 3-4, k4 is 4-5 kindergarten is 5-6, then we have 1-5 grade which elememtary school. Then 6-8 which is middle school. Then 9-12 which is high school. Then we have college, but we don't call it grade 13. Elementary school ages is usually 6-11. Middle school ages is 11-14. High school is 14-18. Also, there are the people born at different times so the ages may vary. What I meant is that the last book will come out when I am 18. In America, 18 is considered an adult. I am just hoping I would still care to read it when I am going to college.

I will also be 18 when the series ends.
I really hope the by then the I still care about reading and other things.

message 393: by Zara (new)

Zara I will be 16 going on 17... Wow. (Since I turn 13 this year)

message 394: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine I remember reading this book series called Savvy I think when I was 10. It was my favorite book and I even emailed the author. SHE EMAILED ME BACK THE NEXT MORNING! I printed it out, but I lost it....:(. Anyways, I read the first book, then the second book came out when I was I think like 10 or 11, so I read it and enjoyed it. I remember when she decided to make a third book. In the series Scumble (second book of the Savvy series), the protagonist is the nephew to the first book protagonist, so it was a big time jump. This third one, the protagonist is the first book protagonist's baby sister who grew up. I didn't want to read the third one when it came out because the protagonist was not the same, and the first book protagonist was barely in the second book, so who knows about the third one? I forgot about it and years later, the third one finally came out. It came out when I was 13, so I lost interest in the storyline. The audience the book was directed at was too young for me. I never read it. That is what I am fearing will happen with this series. I will be going to college, and this book series is aimed at middle schoolers. I just really hope that I will stay faithful to this series. It is my favorite series still so......well that my change in my high school years too. Oh well. I guess it might not happen. Look at Harry Potter. That came out in the 90s and adults still read the new books and enjoy the new content. OKAY THIS WAS WAY TOO LONG.

Yup. Black hair is the most common hair color among humans. Mine is black and I have olive-ish brown skin, so I guess Bianca, Reyna or Thalia for me.

message 396: by Midhat (new)

Midhat Guys, who else is excited to read the Cursed Child? I can't wait! But I still haven't bought the book.

message 397: by Zara (new)

Zara Is black really the most common hair colour? I thought it was brown. There always seems to be more brown hair than black. Also more blonde.
