The Hidden Oracle!

HIDDEN ORACLE Final cover

Thanks to everyone who came to our launch event in Boston on Tuesday, May 3! We had a sold-out crowd and I loved hearing your questions and sharing your enthusiasm. And thanks to everyone on social media who has already responded to the new series with such love and appreciation. I’ve got the best readers in the world! It’s always a relief to me when I hear that I met your expectations in a new volume.

If you haven’t picked up your copy of The Hidden Oracle yet, it is now available anywhere books are sold in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. I’m not sure about the other markets. I don’t get that info. But if it’s not yet available where you live, I’m sure the publishers are working hard to get it into your hands as soon as possible!

And if you missed the usual “Coming in 2017” at the end of The Hidden Oracle, I did too! Here is the title of book two, which will be here next October:

Trials of Apollo BOOK 2 type cover 2P

Also the Rick Riordan website has just had a facelift. Check it out and let me know what you think!

I use a lot of my time in a libraly (it is actually my favorite place to be when I have holiday or in school.)
I always ask for the new books they can buy in, and if I have nothing left that I would read. I always ask librarian to give me advice of which book they would read.

Same here with Barnes and Noble.

But my friends
a) have books that i already own
b) don't have similar tastes in books
c) are not bookworms like me.

I also get a good # of books from my library but just not by taking them out... I volunteer there and one of the things I do is red books before they come out and then review them, I think for the library's website....
I actually got a book 6 months before it comes out and it still won't come out until October. Now I'm seeing all these promos for it and I feel kinda weird like that it has already come out. But for a voracious reader, there are DEFINITELY worse problems you can have. ;p

Well, based on my looks, I'd probably be Piper, Reyna, Bianca, or Thalia.

My hair color is brown and when I'm outside it kind of looks like a really dark red.
Base on how I look am definiley either piper or reyna can't decide.

Yeah. Drew was Asian. I don't look like any of the characters from HoO. The closest description would probably be Annabeth's eyes with Piper's hair. :(

message 313: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Well I would try to dress up like her. But I cant use make up. (Have never learned to use it :P).

Seems like everyone would try to dress up like a character from the series. :)

The only thing is to make a Camp half-blood t-shirt and necklace.

message 314: by Zara (new)

Zara Yeah I know where you can get them online I was thinking of doing cosplay for a pop culture convention but then decided against it. I dunno how to use make up much either I only ever sometimes use lipstick. I once tried eyeliner... didn't really work.

message 315: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I also tried once in class picture but it didnt go very well. I dont think it would be a costume party where I go at school. It is only for 1-4 grade

That reminds me of nail polish I hate how when you put it on you ant really do anything until it's completely dry and taking it off is bad too.

message 318: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She That's a reason why I never go to parties :P

SAME! I love nail polish for toes, but for hands, it is a different story. I like polish on my fingers, but when I get it, I am too careful with things. I can't put on seat-belts, turn on lights, or anything. Once I do chip it, I want to chip them all! It is a big mess, but luckily, I just got gel on my nails and gel is very secure! It does mess up the nail bed and chips off within a few weeks, but overall it is still good!

message 326: by Zara (new)

Zara I borrowed miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children from my friend Harmony and I accidentally left a bit of a red line on the page from my nail polish... oops. Also I tried to blue tack things to the wall and now that has red lines too. It's almost like a style now: all of my fingers have nail polish on the top half but not the bottom anyway got to go to class now 5th period health ugh bye

message 327: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I am glad that I dont have any school until 22th august. Actually I only wear nail polish in summer. I only use it on my feet and never use it on my hands.

message 328: by Zara (new)

Zara In Australia since summer is at the end of the year that is when we get our longest (6 week) holiday. It's winter here, so I'm guessing it's summer where you are?

message 329: by Zara (new)

Zara It's so annoying that because all the Christmas traditions were invented for winter they don't really work as well in Australia where Christmas is in Summer. Plus, the people who invented these holidays seemed to put them all at the start and end of the year. There is nothing to do in the middle in Winter. Except freeze. And read books.

message 330: by Zara (new)

Zara The only reason I am annoyed with the cold weather is that at school we have to stay outside any time we are not in class. It's so cold and I'm not used to winter because I used to live further north than I live now (not specifying where) and since it was closer to the equator it was warmer there. We barely had any winter at all.

Well same here only 3-4 weeks left in the holiday then I start on 10 grade.

Actually it is pretty cold here too in winter. -20 in january the coldest month. The wierd thing is that the longest holiday is in summer and not in winter. I really wish that the longest holiday is in winter, because it is pretty cold here.

message 334: by N.E.S (new)

N.E.S its extremely hot over here....95 degrees can't even go outside....i have to live in the A.C

message 335: by Zara (new)

Zara Do you use Fahrenheit or Celcius? I use Celcius.

message 336: by Zara (new)

Zara Right now it is 2.9 C and 37.22 F.

message 337: by Val (new)

Val Hdz I use Celcius too, here it's 19 C and 66F

message 338: by Zara (new)

Zara Val wrote: "I use Celcius too, here it's 19 C and 66F"

Is it summer or winter where you are? I dunno because in Sydney for example, that would be winter but in other places it could be summer.

message 339: by Evelin (new)

Evelin Ah, summer so hot you get a sunburn the moment you step outside.
Were I live we use Celcius.

message 340: by Val (new)

Val Hdz It's summer. it's weird because it's supposed to be sunny, but now it's raining all the day. Also were I lived we use Celsius

message 341: by Zara (new)

Zara Yeah most places use Celcius just a few use Fahrenheit like America I don't get why, they should just use Celcius like the rest of the world.

message 342: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I agree. We also use celcius here.

message 343: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She It is pretty not that hot here. Only 22 celsius where I live

message 344: by Zara (new)

Zara In Australia's summer it doesn't usually get under 20 degrees. But I HATE IT when it is 40.
And I get allergies in summer so I definitely prefer winter weather.

message 345: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Well it is pretty like in China too, but I havent been ther for 2 years. I got allergies in late spring till early summer.

message 346: by Val (new)

Val Hdz I prefer cold temperatures more than warm temperatures

message 347: by Evelin (new)

Evelin I think more people prefer cold than hot.
I prefer cold which is weird since I live in a pretty hot place.

message 348: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine I think America doesn't use Celsius because of them wanting to be their own country. I can nust imagine the Founding Fathers. "YOU KNOW WHAT, THOMAS?" "Yes, George...." "LET'S MAKE OUR OWN SYSTEM OF MEASUREMENT FOR WEATHER AND BASICALLY EVERYTHING!" "George, I don't think-" "FARENHEIT WILL BE THE WEATHER AND A FOOT WOULD BE 12.....INCHES AND A YARD IS 3 FEET! YES IT'S ALL COMING TO ME!" "Oh no...."

DISCLAIMER: This did not happen at all. I just thought it was funny.

message 349: by Val (new)

Val Hdz Hahaha, true. It's funny. Right now I am reading, what are you doing?
