The Hidden Oracle!

HIDDEN ORACLE Final cover

Thanks to everyone who came to our launch event in Boston on Tuesday, May 3! We had a sold-out crowd and I loved hearing your questions and sharing your enthusiasm. And thanks to everyone on social media who has already responded to the new series with such love and appreciation. I’ve got the best readers in the world! It’s always a relief to me when I hear that I met your expectations in a new volume.

If you haven’t picked up your copy of The Hidden Oracle yet, it is now available anywhere books are sold in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. I’m not sure about the other markets. I don’t get that info. But if it’s not yet available where you live, I’m sure the publishers are working hard to get it into your hands as soon as possible!

And if you missed the usual “Coming in 2017” at the end of The Hidden Oracle, I did too! Here is the title of book two, which will be here next October:

Trials of Apollo BOOK 2 type cover 2P

Also the Rick Riordan website has just had a facelift. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Zara I wouldn't recommend the t-shirt because everyone always tries to read it but can't so you have to explain it. I think the subtler or simpler ones are better. But red bubble has a ton of Percy Jackson fan-made stuff including camp half blood and Jupiter shirts.

Zara I just took the Pottermore tests and got Gryffindor and Thunderbird. I still think Ravenclaw, but oh well.

Thunderbird represents the soul of the person. Wampus represents the body of the person.
Horned Serpent represents the mind of the person.
Pukwudgie represents the heart of the person.

I like to think of the houses of both schools correlate slightly. Not like Horned Serpent is Slytherin or Thunderbird is Ravenclaw. I think it like whatever house you were sorted in is because of your Ilvermorny house. For example, I am a Gryffindor and a Pukwudgie. Pukwudgie represents the heart. I am a Gryffindor because of my heart. I hope that made sense.

That does make sense. I'd be like Gryffindor and Ravenclaw then.

Same. But I'm not really thinking of each Ilvermony house as as a Hogwarts house. It's sorted differently, looking at different aspects. The soul... that would kinda be, like, your fate, who you are, who and what you represent, ya know?

Yeah of course it is different. I want an Australian school of witchcraft and wizadry.

My friend made a CHB t-shirt for Character Day during our school's Spirit Week (she was Annabeth). It turned out really well actually and I was wondering why I hadn't thought of that...

message 262: by Zara (new)

Zara I think if I ever dressed up as a character it would be Reyna or maybe Bianca. I like Bianca and she's the character I look most like but no one would know who I was if I tried to dress up as her. And I'm way too young to be Reyna.

message 263: by Evelin (new)

Evelin If I ever dressed up as a character I would go for piper or Reyna.

message 264: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine I'd have to be Hazel with how I look. I'm totally cool with it though!

if you go on pottermore it talks about other magic schools in other countries....its soooooo cool. I wish we can use that to put on a geographer test.

Zara Anyone have Pokemon go? That is, if you live in a country where it has been released. I'm pretty sure it is only in Japan, the US, Australia and New Zealand so far.

message 269: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Well, we are waiting for that in Norway. So nope.
But have you read the mortal instruments and the infernal devices series from Cassandra Clare? And the newest series the dark artifices ( lady midnight)?

No I have not read those books. Also are they good.

message 273: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I really enjoyed the first book and if you love fantasy and romance that is the perfect book to look for.

But you have to read the infernal devices too because it have some surprise in the mortal instument. Read it after the city of glass.
And if you know city of bones they created a movie on that book too.

And btw i dont have a good phone to play pokemon go, I dont play any games but my brother do so I asked him what the game is.

message 274: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She You can also read the summary of city of bones in goodreads.

message 275: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine I almost read it, but it just doesn't seem interesting enough. I'm not into dystopian society young adult novels. Well, it depends actually. I read the Matched seeies and the Selecrion series, but I never read Hunger Games or Divergent or Mazerunner if that makes sense. "Violent dystopian government" novels are just not for me. In the movies, yes, but I never have that much interest with the books.

I've never seen/read the hunger games. I've seen the first divergent and thought it was boring. I was thinking of reading Artemis fowl. One of the reviews of Percy Jackson said it's Buffy meets Artemis fowl- thumbs up. I LOVE Buffy. Has anyone read Artemis fowl?

message 277: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I had never read the Hunger games, divergent or mazerunner either. But i saw the first 2 movies of the hunger games at school.

I might read them one day not now. What is the Artemis fowl about? I saw that series in the library but it is not borrowed so much.

message 278: by Evelin (new)

Evelin I read the first book of The Hunger Games and the Mazerunner, also seen all the movies of the hunger Games but, never try the read divergent series.

I heard of Artemis fowl but never read them.

message 279: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine Twelve-year-old Artemis Fowl is a millionaire, a genius—and, above all, a criminal mastermind. But even Artemis doesn't know what he's taken on when he kidnaps a fairy, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon Unit. These aren't the fairies of bedtime stories—they're dangerous! Full of unexpected twists and turns, Artemis Fowl is a riveting, magical adventure. (This is from the Goodreads description. I almost read it a few years ago, but became uninterested.)

I though that for years then a while ago I picked it up in the library and read the blurb and I was just thinking oh... Artemis is a boy's name?

message 288: by Zara (new)

Zara Probably because Artemis the goddess we think of Artemis as a girl.

message 289: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine I only knew it was a boy because when I firat saw the book, there was a boy on the cover so.....but yeah Artemis is a female name.

message 290: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine One of my favorite things about the TOA is the cover. It is beautiful! The color choices and the picture of Apollo shooting an arrow are great! I also like the insignia on the side! Very well done!

message 291: by Zara (new)

Zara I like that cover too but I have the uk cover because Australia has the UK versions. The only series I have the US cover for is the Kane Chronicles because my dad ordered them online.

message 292: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Yep same here but I borrowed from the library. I dont buy books :P since my parents said it was wasted money. Some of the books have both UK and US cover in Norway.

message 293: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Most from Uk

Jasmine I get mine from Barnes and Noble and occasionally borrow from a friend. Two of my friends and I exchange books. One of them let me borrow her books for the first Matched book and the first Selection book. Also let them borrow my Percy Jackson and The Heir and Crown books.
