The Hidden Oracle!

HIDDEN ORACLE Final cover

Thanks to everyone who came to our launch event in Boston on Tuesday, May 3! We had a sold-out crowd and I loved hearing your questions and sharing your enthusiasm. And thanks to everyone on social media who has already responded to the new series with such love and appreciation. I’ve got the best readers in the world! It’s always a relief to me when I hear that I met your expectations in a new volume.

If you haven’t picked up your copy of The Hidden Oracle yet, it is now available anywhere books are sold in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. I’m not sure about the other markets. I don’t get that info. But if it’s not yet available where you live, I’m sure the publishers are working hard to get it into your hands as soon as possible!

And if you missed the usual “Coming in 2017” at the end of The Hidden Oracle, I did too! Here is the title of book two, which will be here next October:

Trials of Apollo BOOK 2 type cover 2P

Also the Rick Riordan website has just had a facelift. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Zara My third grade teacher also read us how to train your dragon which was actually not as good as the movie!!!! I have only ever read two books and thought the movie was better: how to train your dragon and the wizard of oz. The books both dragged on a bit. And did you know that in the wizard of oz book the slippers were silver, not ruby, they just made them ruby because of the whole black and white to colour effect.

Emily The only movie that I say is better than the book is Johnny Tremain. Disney made a movie from it in the 1950's or 60's and I liked it SO much better than I liked the book, which I had thought dragged on WAY too long.

Parinaz I am looking forward to this series! I really want to read it and I feel it's a great one! Can't wait!

I read that book in 7th grade. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I didn't see the movie though. We didn't have time.

Johnny Tremain is a book about a boy growing up and having to deal with the American Revolution. After a terrible accident, he joins the Sons of Liberty and it all takes off from there!

Evelin Sounds like a good book Pug.

message 161: by Bec (new)

Bec I don't know how Rick pumps so many- still high quality- books out each year. I really like Trials of Apollo, I wasn't sure how i'd react but it was so perfect. It tied many things together and Percy was introduced, without it being centred around him. (I would read any book that percy was the hero in tbh, but after BoO, I think Percy part in this was just right). I'll be keenly waiting for the new book next year!

Zara We have a digital Technology class at school but it is not coding just learning how to use programs that we will never use again. Kodu, scratch, comic life, hour of code, audacity, and some others I can't remember. When I say we "learn" how to use them I mean the teacher shows us a video and we figure the rest out ourselves. Most of these programs are game making programs but the only game making program I like to use is game maker which we didn't learn. I don't like scratch. Plus, all these programs are Windows 7 and I usually use Windows 10. I hate that class.

Ok. Rant over.

Zara It would be cool to learn code. I am good at maths and I've done a little basic html coding in primary school (Australian schools: primary [K-6] secondary [7-12]).

Ah, another member of the Fandom! Welcome peasant! Okay, I don't have time to explain much, but here are the rules for the fandom:
1. Don't hail a taxi to NYC, you're gonna get lost instead of finding Camp Half-Blood.
2. If you insult Percy Jackson, the fandom will hunt you down and kill you.
3. Ya gotta take the oath:
I, (name), son/daughter of (Godly parent's name), vow to turn my back on the company of mortals and sacrifice my education, time, and people to the cause of the fandom, and accept the role of acting like a lunatic for the rest of my life. I accept the fandom.

message 199: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I wish that I could go there. But when you live in Norway and have to work on with school and stuff. I really love the series and I am just so excited about the New book !!!!!
I love Percy Jackson and the Heroes of Olympus.

I started to read Percy Jackson series when I was 11 years old.(I had never been a good reader. But it changed when I started to read the series. Well I started to read on Norwegian, because I couldn't read anything in English that time. :P) Now I am reading everything in English and I love them even more. It's just like you have to read the original stuff.

I loved the original series even more that the translated once. I figured out that it is so much wrong when they translate. Your books was the inspiration to start reading many other books

I can't get enough of the story. Those books makes my day better!! :D

message 200: by Zara (new)
