The Hidden Oracle!

HIDDEN ORACLE Final cover

Thanks to everyone who came to our launch event in Boston on Tuesday, May 3! We had a sold-out crowd and I loved hearing your questions and sharing your enthusiasm. And thanks to everyone on social media who has already responded to the new series with such love and appreciation. I’ve got the best readers in the world! It’s always a relief to me when I hear that I met your expectations in a new volume.

If you haven’t picked up your copy of The Hidden Oracle yet, it is now available anywhere books are sold in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. I’m not sure about the other markets. I don’t get that info. But if it’s not yet available where you live, I’m sure the publishers are working hard to get it into your hands as soon as possible!

And if you missed the usual “Coming in 2017” at the end of The Hidden Oracle, I did too! Here is the title of book two, which will be here next October:

Trials of Apollo BOOK 2 type cover 2P

Also the Rick Riordan website has just had a facelift. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Zara I just borrowed the first lunar chronicles from the school library it's funny 'cause I'm a library monitor and I was about to return it when I realised what book it was and just borrowed it instead. Well it's not really that funny but oh well my week has been kinda uneventful. Well I wrote a letter to one of my teachers with my friends because we don't like his stupid teaching methods and the fact that he had us do a whole class on behaviour but that's about it. Except the letter said it in a logical diplomatic way.

message 1407: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She In my opinion busy all week but finally a week holiday. Then a book week. This year is the hardest competition and work at school. We only used to give reward to those who read most. I lost every time in 2 years. Ugh, this year we have towrite a deepening task where we have to choose a author, literature or language. I can't choose!

message 1408: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She at least I have to choose two of them.

message 1411: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I like Nico he reminds me of someone. But one of my friend ship him with Percy and I am like confused. I feel like that a part of me is like him, because I need a little shadow in my life.

Chasing Whispers N.E.S wrote: "I dont get it its February here but its like really hot and raining...not complainingg,,,but its still weird"

It's kind of like that here in the Bay Area. It's still winter but it's been raining. The forecast keeps saying 100% rain then there would be no rain at all or 0% rain then it's pouring cats and dogs- no, even more than that, horses and whales.

I think it's the opposite of the opposite week for everyone because for me this week was a weird.

I just realised that this week has been really weird for me: I've been actually organised! I finished my video for my YouTube channel days before I need to publish it! I'm completely on top of my homework. I'm actually practicing my saxophone! And on Friday I had the sudden urge to start cleaning around the house!!!! None of that ever happens! And the weather is so mild for an Australian summer.

I think Gaia is messing with us. Or possibly just Aeolus.

message 1419: by Zara (new)

Zara Never mind it's actually quite hot today I just hadn't gone outside yet. Siri says it's 23 degrees but it feels more like 30 or more

message 1420: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She February is pretty normal here with snow and all. The only thing that is weird should be that the snow should have fall during December and not in February.

Zara Kang Ying wrote: "February is pretty normal here with snow and all. The only thing that is weird should be that the snow should have fall during December and not in February."

I've never had it snow in any place I've lived :(

Kang Ying She Snow is not the best thing but I like it. This is worst when in starts to melt and then covered in snow, and it's going to be so icy tomorrow when I go to school. I should also that I had taken my first driving lesson during winter holiday.

Zara I'm loving the Lunar Chronicles! I'm procrastinating from continuing to read Cress because I don't have Winter even though I'm on like page 200 out of 550 but I know I'm going to finish it quick then need the next one. Ok I realise I'm kind of babbling but I really like it. Especially Cinder and Prince Kai they're the best.

message 1425: by Evelin (new)

Evelin I love the Lunar Chronicles too! I like Scarlet and Wolf a bit more then Cinder and Kai. Also I like how Cress change throughout the book and hope you like Winter too.

message 1426: by Zara (new)

Zara It's so frustrating that my school library has all the books except Winter! I've just finished Cress and I need Winter! I'm going to check the local library (conveniently located right next to my school) but for now I have to wait!!! I need the next book especially because I am home sick and only allowed minimal screen time all I've been doing is reading.
Funny you say that about liking Scarlet and Wolf more because I'm pretty much the opposite. I don't know why I just didn't like Scarlet that much... each to their own I guess. Wolf is... interesting.
One thing that has kind of been bugging me is how no one guessed about (view spoiler)

OK this is getting kind of long but one more thing, have any of you read the School for Good and Evil? I really like it and I can't wait for the fourth book to come out this year. I'm not sure if I marked it as read on goodreads I'll have to check.

message 1427: by Zara (new)

Zara Is it ok to read fairest before winter? I've got fairest and not Winter.

message 1428: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I can agree in that way. My library is a local one which means i can get books from other library. Happy international woman's day :D

Oh yeah happy international women's day! It seems fitting that I'm finishing my project on the Women's Australian Football League that's recently been established (can't believe we didn't have a women's league before-it's discraceful). I should really get back to that project actually it's overdue...

I really like Scarlet and Wolf but im more of a Kai and Cinder

Emily Kang Ying wrote: "That's cool. We have started with Shakespeare so... this means we have to act one day about April."

That's awesome! I acted in my school's production of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew last fall and it was SO fun! If you're gonna do a Shakespeare play, I would suggest that one because it is pretty easy to understand, and it is HYSTERICAL so you have the oppurtunity to crack up your audience.

message 1433: by Emily (new)

Emily But all of Shakespeare's works are great! Have fun!

Zara I had to tell someone this this is hilarious my friend Harmony is reading Percy Jackson for the first time and she just finished it and is now moving on to the Heroes of Olympus and she is coming up with the funniest theories on what's going to happen next like apparently she thinks the seven will be Percy, Annabeth, Piper, Leo, Thalia, Nico and Jason/Clarisse. LOL. And that Percy might have to open the jar to save Olympus yeah right I would've thought she'd heard of Pandora's box but I guess not.

Also Kang Ying I'm sure you'll do well!

message 1440: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I had to read the first two books to come with theory for who the seven are. Btw I really do hope I don't end up playing Juliet :P I would have a smaller role at least I hope so >_<

Same =) i was very surprised about who he liked in the House of Hades but I'm glad that Riordan is creating all of these characters. Nico is one of my favorite heroes =)
