The Hidden Oracle!

HIDDEN ORACLE Final cover

Thanks to everyone who came to our launch event in Boston on Tuesday, May 3! We had a sold-out crowd and I loved hearing your questions and sharing your enthusiasm. And thanks to everyone on social media who has already responded to the new series with such love and appreciation. I’ve got the best readers in the world! It’s always a relief to me when I hear that I met your expectations in a new volume.

If you haven’t picked up your copy of The Hidden Oracle yet, it is now available anywhere books are sold in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. I’m not sure about the other markets. I don’t get that info. But if it’s not yet available where you live, I’m sure the publishers are working hard to get it into your hands as soon as possible!

And if you missed the usual “Coming in 2017” at the end of The Hidden Oracle, I did too! Here is the title of book two, which will be here next October:

Trials of Apollo BOOK 2 type cover 2P

Also the Rick Riordan website has just had a facelift. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Agree
I am 1.58

Zara I don't know how tall I am but I know I'm always one of the tallest people in my class. I'm around 5ft 6 or 165cm. It's confusing how the only time people in Australia use feet and inches is for height.

message 1303: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She we in Norway use cm so I can be confused if you use feet or inches.

message 1304: by Zara (new)

Zara Kang Ying wrote: "we in Norway use cm so I can be confused if you use feet or inches."

Yeah same. In the Percy Jackson books I always mentally convert feet to cm.

message 1305: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I'm so happy for a break. Next year would be worst with exam and choosing high school.

message 1306: by Evelin (new)

Evelin So I'm that smallest one here. I'm 5ft. Almost all my friends are bigger than me.

message 1307: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She It's actually fine to be short. Fun fact even thought I am one of the oldest I am also one of the shortest you could just see my class picture. I don't mind that I am short and my mother says that I am too short

message 1308: by Val (new)

Val Hdz I practice climbing and basketball and sometimes I feel angry because I am one of the shortest in the team

Zara Ugh, I hate Summer! I wish Christmas was in Winter. It is 30 degrees today and it will get up to 35 tomorrow. Thank the gods for air conditioning!
As the weather person fittingly said, the turkey won't be the only thing roasting tomorrow...

message 1310: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Wow, our winter is warmer than usual. It's 5 celsius now it used to be - 5 or -10. weirdly enough I haven't seen any snow.

message 1311: by Zara (new)

Zara You should see Sydney "winter". It gets up to 20 degrees some days. I think I might want to move to another country when I'm older. Or maybe just Tasmania. To somewhere colder, anyway.

That's warmer than usual? That's average in Melbourne winter but still colder than I'm used to.

message 1312: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Well, 25-30 celsius is the highest temperature in our summer. When we traveled to China for 3 years ago (fun fact I haven't traveled ever since.) It was so warm that when my mother returned she got high blood pressure which caused stroke and half of her right side couldn't move (arm and foot). That was the worst summer I ever had.

Zara Kang Ying wrote: "Well, 25-30 celsius is the highest temperature in our summer. When we traveled to China for 3 years ago (fun fact I haven't traveled ever since.) It was so warm that when my mother returned she got..."

Oh wow! That sounds awful. 25-40 is our summer.

message 1314: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I think in China 30 - 40 celsius not sure. That is actually a reason I became a more grown up than all other in my class. Already when I was 12 I could cook, clean at home and more. So if I move out I could survive without my parents.

message 1315: by Emily (new)

Emily Evelin wrote: "So I'm that smallest one here. I'm 5ft. Almost all my friends are bigger than me."

Nope. I'm also 5 ft. My friends have nicknamed me Tinkerbell.
I kind of like it because we are both tiny and sometimes bad-tempered.

message 1316: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Seems like we are not so tall, but none have me nickname because they call me something I hate
It is a reason if my friends don't remember my name I say call me Ying like Ying and Yang. But I can use two different Ying if I write my name in Chinese. One that I laugh much or that I am born in a winter day, something like that.

message 1317: by Zara (new)

Zara It's Christmas and I got a tripod! And a go-pro-like camera! I'm even happier than my brother who got the Star Wars Death Star speaker.

message 1318: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She So cool, actually we don't celebrate with gifts only with good food.

message 1319: by Val (new)

Val Hdz Have a great Christmas with your family !!!

message 1320: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Same to you!

message 1321: by N.E.S (new)

message 1322: by Zara (new)

Zara 6 days left of 2016.

message 1323: by Zara (new)

Zara 2017 just sounds way too... futuristic. It does not feel like we are anywhere near twenty-SEVENTEEN! That's three years until 2020! 2020 just sounds VERY futuristic, a long time away.

In 2020 I'll be 17. That makes it sound far.

Evelin So what you guys got for Christmas (if you celebrated.) I got money and a plush bear he so cute! What should I name him?

I got a tripod, camera, table game and a dress. You should name the bear Nico.

message 1331: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I only got money for Christmas. I Would be 19 by then it is so wired to think about that.

message 1332: by Val (new)

Val Hdz I got 6 books :)

message 1333: by Zara (new)

Zara Val wrote: "I got 6 books :)"

message 1340: by Zara (new)

Zara I wonder who's going to be in the dark prophecy. Probably Jason and Piper. I hope Hazel and Frank. I wish Nico and Will but they won't be there they'll be at camp. I personally hope Meg isn't in it much. What do you guys think?

I hate to say but I think Meg is probably going to show up. I really hope Rick Riordan makes a whole series with Nick and Will but I don't think he will =(

Meg for me was ok. I do think Jason and Piper are that ones that going to be the dark prophecy. But I would liked if it was Hazel and Frank better. Maybe Rick can do a small story for Nico and Will about them going on a little adventure, who knows. What really was weird for me was the cover.

message 1344: by Zara (last edited Dec 28, 2016 01:32AM) (new)

Zara I know I sound like a broken record but I HATE SUMMER!!! It is 29.2 degrees Celsius at 8:30 at night. I'm not going to sleep tonight.

message 1345: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She It is worse when you have neighbors who never stop knocking build something above you.

message 1346: by Zara (new)

Zara Kang Ying wrote: "It is worse when you have neighbors who never stop knocking build something above you."

Yeah that is pretty bad at least here it is completely quiet at night... except maybe for me constantly swatting at flies to stay away from my book light. I need to know what happens to Agatha and Sophie and Tedros and Dot and the school for good and evil and last time my mum used big spray I threw up so I'm going nowhere near that again.

message 1347: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She That never happens with us. I Only got disturbed by my work at home.

message 1348: by Chasing Whispers (new)

Chasing Whispers Wow really? It's just right here. Winter is always like this. California's weather doesn't change much- or at least not in the Bay Area The hottest in an average summer is around 90 and the coldest in an average winter is 35 Fahrenheit.

message 1349: by Zara (new)

Zara I got 4 hours sleep and just woke up from a spider on my leg and can't get back to sleep. I BLAME SUMMER. well really I blame the rubbish air conditioning I can't wait to go stay with my dad he has really good air conditioning. Oh and sorry I keep constantly complaining about this I'll stop now it is just really annoying me.
