Bringing Horror Out of the Darkness Talk on Horror Dec 6th in North Chesterfield, Virginia

I will talk about why I enjoy writing horror and why the horror of today is no longer the dirty little secret keep hidden only in the dark. That it has a prestigious history thanks to Richmond’s native son, Edgar Allan Poe, Bram Stoker, Mary Shelley, and others, while today’s writers like Stephen King and Virginia author Elizabeth Massie show that there is more to monsters than just scaring you. That they make good fodder for well-written stories, novellas, and novels, besides nail biting reading material. the pleasures of writing horror; the legacy of classic writers like Edgar Allan Poe, Bram Stoker and Mary Shelley; and how modern writers like Stephen King and Virginia author Elizabeth Massie show there's more to monsters than just scaring people. Registration is required and began Nov. 22 and ends 12/6/2016 EST. Registration link: http://chesterfield.evanced.info/sign... The talk will be in the North Courthouse Road Meeting Room, North Courthouse Road Library, 325 Courthouse Road, North Chesterfield, VA.
