We lost the koi

All of them, we think.

We think the heater failed. Sad, sad. They were pets who’d eat from our fingers.

Keeping titles short

And mastering the art of pix. This is actually easier on this new format. This is one of our prettier lilies.

To become a member: new procedure, and apologies to anyone…

who may have been frustrated by this.

step one: join the site and…

step two: immediately send me a conversational e-mail introducing yourself, a more complicated form of ‘I am not a robot’ —you can say where you are, how you came in, etc.

We are functional again.

I’m not sure how this works, but we are up. Some of you with phones may notice better functionality—the inability to resize was one of the reasons the old site was wheezing.

New Look

We have a new look, using another new theme. We expect to keep this one on the site and make improvements as we go. We’re trying to address the ctrl-shift-r thing too…

seems I can act as admin, but can't 'comment' because I can't log in.

It’s totally bollixed up. Stay with us We’re working on it. The login button is now in the upper right corner, your name.

I'm kind of liking this theme.

Those are the infamous koi. Maddy is the white one. Ari the gold. Byakuya is the black one.

Koi’s faces are a little strange when they lengthen their faces to get a mouthful.

The 3-finger operation continues, but at least we have something readable. If I keep this, I’m going to move the menu to the sidebar. And we lost the echo of comments, as if I *need* to know what *I* said, which is perfectly evident in the large type. But at least this one has a bit of ‘me’ about it. I’ll see if there’s a sidebar widget to manage the comments.

Look for changes: we now suspect the 'theme' may need to change…

…and this means the look may change and features may disappear to reappear later. ‘Theme’ governs arrangement and organization, ‘plug-ins’ may not be compatible, and have to be added piece at a time, so without notice, you may see some disruptions, you may find something you’re used to temporarily ‘not there’ or ‘not where you expect it’…but data gets conserved, so we should be able to put the pieces back together.

I’ll be doing this, Jane will be doing this. We’re still needing the Ctrl-Shift-r salute to see the latest. It’s a pain, but we’re working through it.
