Music Monday – The Great Shipwreck of Life

#MusicMonday is late, but the song also happens to be ‘The Great Shipwreck of Life’ by IAMX which is hilariously appropriate, but it’s because I was partying it up in Atlanta with the lovely ladies from Blushing Books and having the loveliest of times with so many people. IAMX has been on #MusicMonday before and ‘The Great Shipwreck of Life’ is a song that always catches my attention. It’s such a good one, and definitely fun to listen to because it’s got a great beat / rhythm that is almost upbeat except that the lyrics are kind of dark and strange. I love it. Enjoy!

Favorite Lyrics

We can make you understand…

We can make you understand…

Play with me.

You can make the love, I’ll make the money.

Stay with me.

Shut out the world, live underneath the city.

Release cold gender bombs

On colonial closet middle England

Stay with me,

I’ll be Peter Pan and you just be pretty.

To the brave and the petrified,

we all fall down.

To the slave and the civilized,

we all fall down.

To the lovers we left behind,

the bad days, the good nights,

in the great shipwreck of life,

we all fall down.

We light up the bars of the world

with the decadent essence of innocence

So free but sharp

We can be the satellite guiding through the dark.

Thankful Thursday

It’s #ThankfulThursday, lovelies, and I’m SO EXCITED because this weekend I get to see so many of the lovely authors I’ve been “internet friends” with (as my mom would say). I’ll be at the Blushing Books event before RT, but I won’t be at RT. :( Not enough vacation time! BUT! There are so many hugs to give, and so much wine to drink, and so many dirty dirty stories to discuss! I’m absolutely thrilled about it, and it’s making Friday take EVEN LONG to get here, because I’m so damn antsy. Like pre-Christmas. Obviously, the only thing that will help is a hot guy. Until the weekend, lovelies, stare into his abs and enjoy Friday-eve!

Teaser Tuesday! ‘Dark Side of the Sun’ by Addison Cain!

Lovelies, I have to tell you that ‘Dark Side of the Sun’ has all of the naughty, fun sexiness of an old school regency romance – except put through the twisted, dark filter of Addison’s glorious mind. She nails every single aspect of this story, and I felt so fortunate to get to read it. You will LOVE Gregory Harrow’s unapologetic darkness, you’ll adore Arabella’s tragically dark history and her beautiful optimism… and the BEST PART? It has one of the most perfect HEA endings. You will seriously cheer out loud at your kindle! Check it out!

Dark Side of the Sun

Arabella, the Baroness of Iliffe, knows her life is nearing its end. For years the young widow has been hunted across England, running from her past, thrust onward into desolate wastes until there is nowhere else to hide. With the little time she has left, her desperation has driven her into the arms of an extremely sinister man who desires more than just her company.

Gregory Harrow, bastard born gentleman, takes what he wants, and is willing to use anyone and anything to achieve his aims. Greedy, cunning, cruel, he claims to love her, offers to kill for her, but lies come easily to his tongue.

She knows she cannot trust him, but making a deal with the devil might just be her only chance for survival.

DARK SIDE OF THE SUN is a full-length regency era dark romance from internationally bestselling author Addison Cain about depravity, desire, and acute retribution.

Teaser

The feeling of lips at her throat, the sounds he made, and an animal noise came from the woman. Her eyes were locked on the high ceiling where she tried to count the beams, but Arabella could not focus… because she felt him. She felt hands that were warm, that cupped the base of her skull, that traced the line of her spine.

The richness of Harrow’s voice moved straight through her when he chided, “You are frightened.”

Blinking in her stupor, two matching trails of tears fell down her cheeks. Frightened? She was terrified.

Releasing his hold on her hair, Gregory pulled her attention back to his face, hushed her, and delicately used his thumb to wipe the salty drips away. “Shhhhh.”

The very second he stepped back, she thought it was over. But the sensation of relief vanished when Arabella realized he had drawn her body along with his. The devil’s eyes never broke from hers, even as he settled back in the soft comfort of the large leather chair.

Holding her gaze steady, he guided her legs astride his lap.

At once the languorous slow moving hands were back. Warm, full lips almost brushed hers as Gregory caressed the nape of her neck, her shoulders, kneaded the swell of a hip, leaving her mind nothing but a mad fervor that mirrored the sound of the screaming wind against the house. His exploration went on for ages and over time coaxed the tension from her muscles, removed the frightened wideness of her eyes and replaced it with lowered lashes and softly parted lips.

She did not know what to do, unable to make herself move.

The sensations in her skin were absolutely foreign, heady. When Gregory’s fingertips slid up the naked skin of her leg, bringing the hem of her nightgown higher, a strangled noise came from Arabella’s throat. It pleased him, and she was rewarded with the lightest scraping of his nails against her sensitive hip.

When her eyes finally closed, the woman lost, his hand worked at the flap of his breeches. The arm cradling her lower back lifted her body high enough for Gregory to delve under the ruffles and lace. A touch, light as a feather, swept between her legs. A smear of feeling, and she tensed, bucked, and felt heavily drugged. Temple to his shoulder, certain too much wine, too many troubles had brought forth such a hallucination, Arabella found she did not know her body or why such feelings existed.

There was no shyness in the way he parted her folds, how fingertips tripped and toyed until she could feel a heartbeat growing between her legs.

Harrow’s touch retreated. After fumbling between them something hard and smooth, something larger than fluttering fingers touched the place where all the growing intoxication seemed to center. Gripping the length of his cock, Gregory ran the swollen crown over drenched softness, enjoying the way Arabella’s lashes flared, pleased with her sudden hitched breath. A furious burst of feeling rocked her as the instrument in his fist found where it sought to burrow. With an appreciative growl, Gregory urged her to lower, ignoring her slight resistance, until the throbbing head of his cock breached a passage so warm it melted for him.

Stretching her, filling her, arms slipped around her middle and he bore her down, Gregory taking on an expression of impassioned pain at her internal clench.

Ummm, I feel the urge to swoon. Don’t you? HOLY HOTNESS. Gregory Harrow is this freaking amazing, and even more so, throughout the whole book. Quick dialogue, a dark story, all wrapped in this regency romance packaging that only Addison Cain could pull off. Seriously, if you haven’t bought a copy or grabbed it for FREE on Kindle Unlimited, you need to 1-click it right now!

Want more of Addison Cain?

Addison L. Cain was born in sunny California, but found herself drawn to dwell in older, history-rich places. Japan, Ireland, Qatar, and now Washington DC,Addison is always on the move, always eager to immerse herself in new cultures and people. Her stories reflect the antiquities she loves: deep and sometimes very dark. Driven to push her characters beyond the pale, Addison’s books are not for the faint of heart.

An alumni of California State University Fullerton, she earned a degree in Japanese and spent years in Asia studying indigenous Japanese religion. Primeval forests and worn pathways have led to her obsession with gardening. Her Great Dane approves, loping around the yard and getting into mischief. Unfortunately the cat has to watch from a window, and because Addison is a total sucker for his sad golden eyes, he gets hours of belly rubs and too many treats.

#MusicMonday – Blindfold

I’m sure just by the title of this song, you know why it’s on #MusicMonday today. Ha! ‘Blindfold’ by Sleeping Wolf is hot and kinky and dark and I love it. It’s a must have on my writing playlist and as you listen (or watch their lyric video below) I think you’ll fall in love with it too. Personally, I’m still exhausted and riding the high of the BookBub yesterday. ‘Early Sins’ is still in the top-500 on overall Amazon, top 10 in various Romance categories, and I’m thrilled to have so many people reading Camille’s backstory. Don’t forget though, Lethal Sin (Book 1) is on sale as well!

Favorite Lyrics

Pull me in.

No, I cannot resist

every time your gravity

has a hold on me.

Shed your skin,

you’re just a counterfeit.

Dressing up an empty heart,

I know who you are.

So use your… So use your…

Blindfold!

Cover your hands on my

eyes, closed.

Do it again .

Tie me up and show me what’s real.

Hate your love, but love how you feel.

Useless,

trying to fight,

and the truth is

I’d rather be blind!

In the dark.

I need to taste the blood.

Go on draw another line,

we can cross this time.

Battle scars.

Your touch is not enough,

I need you to pierce my veins,

and become my pain.

‘Black Light: Cuffed’ is here + SO HOT!

★★ BLACK LIGHT: CUFFED IS LIVE!! ★★

The latest book in the Black Light series is available *right now*, and it’s so incredibly HOT! Measha Stone brings the masochistic kinky fun in book 5, ‘Black Light: Cuffed’, and I know you’re going to love sexy Detective Tate. *purr* I know I did! The coolest part? Measha Stone also wrote a story in the ‘Black Light: Valentine Roulette’ boxset, and Tate and Sydney were in that story! That’s right! Not only will you get an update on her characters from Roulette, and some special surprise updates from others (hint hint!) but you’ll get to read a really fantastic story too! It’s edgy and panty-exploding hot.

Thankful Thursday

It’s #ThankfulThursday, lovelies!! I got to work from home yesterday (hurrah!) but of course that means today has been so packed with meetings that I barely got the chance to breathe, much less share this hottie with you. I am completely thrilled by all my new branding, can’t wait to get my new swag, and I’m dancing in my seat at all the fun stuff I’ve got coming out (which has me bursting at the seams to share it with all of you!!). I just need like… a full week with NOTHING else to do but write and I’m sure I’d be back on track because the words are flying right now. (How’s 8k in the past week when I’ve only been able to write late at night AND there was Easter?) BAM! Anyway, a successful week like this week deserves a very nice hottie to ease us into the weekend. Enjoy, lovelies, and tell me something good from this week in the comments!

#MusicMonday – Love is Love

It’s #MusicMonday, lovelies, and we’re back from the hectic Easter weekend and I’m finally back to my normal grind of a day job. No more excitement until the end of the month when I get to run off to Atlanta and hang out with some of my favorite author friends at the Blushing Books event (preceding the Romantic Times RT convention). Check out my events tab if you’re curious about it, but I, unfortunately, can’t stay for RT. It’s expensive and I’ve never found it very helpful, or a very successful promotional opportunity for my brand of dark and dirty. ;p

I’ve been holding onto this song for a while, and I heard it when I was writing on the plane back from Vegas again and I just knew I had to use it today! iET starts off the song with this almost rap, the chaos of being overwhelmed by love, but then she suddenly shifts the song and she has this wonderful voice, rich and warm, and the lyrics take you on a meandering story that you can just FEEL. Trust me, you’re going to enjoy this one lovelies.

Scroll down, hit play on the song (no video for this one) and then enjoy the amazing lyrics!

Lyrics

All I know is when I chance a touch,

and when you receive it, and love,

twenty seconds in one hour’s enough

to remind me that I need this warmth.

All I know is that I can’t be alone.

Anybody with two eyes, and that’s grown,

that’s open to the air that you blow,

keeps me company in this pink abode.

But I want you to be ignorant to the fact,

that I’m like a heatwave, but I bet you felt that.

And with all theses flames that could turn the sun black,

I’m going against nature, holding this heat back.

Spark lit, so addicdicted,

Dis-play in my brain, doing it’s bit,

with the heart restrained, all I can do is sit,

with flooding eyes and drying ink.

When you enter the room, it’s unfair.

Suddenly my mind gets clear – then goes blank.

Struggling not to disappear or be bare.

But then no pain exists when you’re there.

Do I need to let love lead, even if it leads me to leave?

And you’re not what I need, and you’re just an idea.

and I can’t even see what you’re like for real.

Both surprised, both release…

Oh, war…

All I want to do is be around your air.

And be myself, as naked as I can be with you.

If you please, accept me for who I am.

So I can – be free in my, love in my,

trust in my feelings and myself, and my…

But love you, yeah, I love you.

Oh, I love you.

Oh, I never expected to be… me, again.

And oh I’m so excited,

to tell you that I want you but –

but – but what?

But what? Really what?

What is the problem?

Love is love. Love is love.

That’s all that matters, right?

Love is love, love is love, love is love… (repeat)

Thankful Thursday

It’s #ThankfulThursday lovelies and I’m in Las Vegas! It was for work, but the conference ends today and I get to go to one of Chef Ramsay’s restaurants (on my life bucket list) and play slots in Vegas for the first time ever. The Dom flew in for dinner and fun, and we’re making the most of our time while I’m *also* writing up a storm. I wish so much that I could share what I’m working on right now – but, contracts. In the mean time, of course, I have a hottie for all of you, and many well wishes for all of you to have a wonderful Easter weekend! In the mean time, who wants to help me *ahem* unwrap a package?

Teaser Tuesday! ‘Motorcycle Master’ by Maggie Carpenter

Today I’ve got a hot book cover and an even hotter teaser for you lovelies! ‘Motorcycle Master’ by Maggie Carpenter is ready to burn rubber, and your kindles!

***

[image error] Motorcycle Master (Bad Boy Angel)

Marco D’Angelo is living a lie. Tall, powerful, brooding, and intimidating, he’s the muscle for a nefarious motorcycle gang, but he has been working undercover for the D.E.A., chasing a shadowy drug lord.

For two long years Marco has been forced to remain a loner, his life in constant danger, but when Kat Baldwin joins the club, he suddenly finds himself in a quandary.

Rebellious, raven-haired and green-eyed, wearing leathers that cling to her voluptuous curves, she takes his breath away. Though his keen instinct tells him there’s more to Kat than meets the eye, and she’s trouble with a capital T, he can’t ignore the intense chemistry blazing between them.

Faster than his bike can race, Marco is under orders to spank her, but when the punishment is over, she shocks him. Chastised women drop their gaze, but not the emerald-eyed vixen. She stares up at him with unwavering scrutiny, and just minutes later she dares to challenge him.

He aches to fist her hair and crush her lips.

To consume her

To make her his.

Can he resist the ferocious desire?

Teaser

Placing his helmet on the coffee table he turned to make a comment, but the flimsy knot she’d tied had fallen open, and the robe fell apart revealing a wide strip of her naked body. Wordlessly he ambled back to her, slipped an arm around her waist, and holding her tightly he gazed into her soft green eyes.

“Do you always answer your door half-naked?”

“No, I’m usually completely naked except for black stilettos.”

Though she was staring back at him with challenge in her eyes, his firm grip around her waist, and the smoldering hunger emanating from his gaze, was melting her.

“What am I going to do with you?” he murmured, his lips curling in a wry grin.

“You have to ask?”

Emitting a low growl he dove his mouth on to hers with a fevered kiss, then swooping her up he carried her swiftly to her bed, dropped her down, and hastily removed his clothes.

“Can you put your jacket back on?”

Throwing back his head Marco laughed out loud. It was spontaneous and real, and Kat instantly saw the tough biker facade vanish before her eyes. This was Marco. The real Marco. The tender man who had wrapped her up in his arms on the couch the night before was Marco, the strict but loving dominant was Marco. She’d been right. The rude, grim, dour man she’d met at the tavern was nothing but an act.

“Sure,” he said still chuckling, “if you lose the robe.”

Slipping it from her shoulders, she watched him don his leather jacket and retrieve a condom from the drawer. His member was at half-mast, and as he climbed on to the bed, straddled her body and kneeled over her, she wrapped her fingers around his thick shaft; it quickly stiffened.

“Funny that,” he murmured as he ripped open the condom package with his teeth.

“What?”

“I don’t remember giving you permission to touch my cock.”

Her butterflies burst to life, and as she dropped her hand a delicious wave of submission caused her thighs to tense, and a wash of warm moisture flood her sex.

“Nothing to say?” he asked, smiling down at her as he slipped the thin membrane in place. “An apology, perhaps?”

“Sorry, Sir,” she said breathlessly. “Are you going to punish me?”

“What would you suggest?” he said huskily, leaning over her and placing his hands on either side of her head.

Pausing, she took a breath, then whispered,

“Whatever pleases you, Sir.”

The confirmation of her true self filled the air, and he lowered his lips to her ear.

“Kat, do you want to be my sub?”

“Yes, please, Sir. That would make me very happy.”

“How long has it been?”

“Several years,” she whimpered, the heat rising up at the back of her throat. “It’s…”

“It’s what?”

“I, uh…”

“Tell me.”

“It’s been uh, difficult—and lonely.”

“My poor girl,” he sighed, lowering the weight of his body on to hers.

Closing her eyes she let out a long sigh. She was liberated. She was able to be who she was and surrender to his delicious dominance. As the minutes ticked by she felt herself sinking into a state of deep serenity, and when he finally rolled off her and brought her into his arms, she curled into him feeling like the kitten he’d predicted she could be.
